Systems and methods for adding functionality to a web page served by a first web-server, may include receiving, at a second web-server, a request from a client-computer for code to add purchase functionality to the web-page. The code may be sent to the client-computer based on the request. A further request may be received from the client-computer containing information about objects identified in the web-page as relating to the purchase functionality and a request for information about the objects. Information about the objects may be sent to the client-computer based on the further request. An instruction to complete the purchase may be received from the client-computer, and a confirmation of the completion of the purchase may be sent to the client-computer.

A station and playlist module manages the content delivered by a number of stations over the network, the type of content that may be delivered by each of the stations being specified by a playlist for that station. Preferably, at least one station includes two or more playlists and only one of those playlists specifies the content that may be delivered by that station at any one time. A database that stores information describing the content or songs that stations can deliver may be searched by users who may also request new content when a particular song is not found. Also, preferably there are at least two categories of system users including a first user category having full access privileges and a second user category having less than full access privileges but having access privileges to create and edit at least one station playlist.

Abstract: A method of producing a playlist of music for a personal music station comprising the steps of assigning a artist block rating to each of a plurality of predefined artist blocks, using the artist block rating to produce an artist rating for each artist in the artist block, generating a list of artists, wherein the number of times each artist appears in the list is related to the artist rating for each artist, randomly selecting artists form the list of artists, producing a prioritized list of songs for each of the randomly selected artists, and selecting songs from the prioritized list of songs for inclusion in a playlist. The playlist can be subsequently edited to create a playlist having a less than a first predetermined number of songs by each of the artists for broadcast within a predetermined time period and having less than a second predetermined number of adjacent songs by each of the artists. A method of distributing songs on a personal music station using the playlist is also included.
