Abstract: A solar powered light device having a shade having an upper edge, an interior area, and an outside bottom surface having a solar panel set thereinto which is electrically connected to a light bulb and a battery located within the interior area of the shade; a switch operatively connected to the light bulb which can be closed when the device is made to rest on the bottom surface; wherein the solar panel charges the battery when the device is resting on the upper edge and wherein the battery powers the light bulb when the device is resting on the bottom surface and the switch is closed.

Abstract: A pest repeller provided with a spring loaded contact system that removes the need for a fragile wire/connecting system and allows the use of replaceable rechargeable batteries without endangering the structural integrity of the device. An alternative embodiment provides an electrically conductive button that is screwed down onto the battery stack. In either embodiment, the spring loading or screw-down button correct for battery length variability by urging the battery chamber as well as the battery stack toward the contact points.

Abstract: A device illuminated by a light controlled by a passive infrared motion detector. The light is contained within a decorative housing shaped to appear as an article of nature or a landscaping element, such as, e.g., a rock, sea shell, brick, or branch, such that the device is not discernable as a light fixture when it is not illuminated. The device can be placed along walkways or paths, and illuminates when a person passes within the effective range of the motion detector.
