  • Publication number: 20230040969
Abstract: A system and methods for assessing an environment are disclosed. A method includes causing a robot to transmit data to first and second user devices, causing the robot to execute a first action, and, responsive to a second instruction, causing the robot to execute a second action. At least one user device is outside the environment of the robot. At least one action includes recording a video of at least a portion of the environment, displaying the video in real time on both user devices, and storing the video on a cloud-based network. The other action includes determining a first physical location of the robot, determining a desired second physical location of the robot, and propelling the robot from the first location to the second location. Determining the desired second location is responsive to detecting a touch on a touchscreen video feed displaying the video in real time.

  • Publication number: 20180089699
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to systems and method for providing a managed user experience for consumer products. A base station may detect a tag associated with a consumer product, which may be used to retrieve a managed user experience cached locally, or stored at a remote device associated with an experience provider. The managed user experience may include gameplay, content, and/or instructions to perform specified functionality. In an example, content and/or instructions may be transmitted to the consumer product and/or one or more intermediary devices in order to generate the managed user experience. In some examples, information may be received from the consumer product by way of the tag and used to provide the managed user experience. In other examples, the tag may be retrieve and/or provide aspects of a managed user experience from an experience provider without use of the base station or intermediary device.

  • Publication number: 20170189803
Abstract: A wearable device can be worn by a user, and can include a mode selector, one or more sensors, a signal detector to detect wireless signals, a feedback mechanism comprising at least one of a haptic system, an audio system, or a visual system and providing feedback outputs. The wearable device can also include a controller that can initiate a selected mode from a plurality of modes on the wearable device, where the selected mode causing the controller to execute a real-world game. In accordance with the selected mode, the controller can interpret sensor data from the one or more sensors and inputs from the signal detector, where the sensor data corresponds to a series of actions performed by the user utilizing the wearable device. Based the interpretations, the controller can generate feedback responses via a feedback mechanism.

  • Patent number: 9429940
Abstract: A self-propelled device includes a spherical housing and an internal drive system including one or more motors. The internal drive system acts to provide power to an interior surface of the spherical housing, thereby causing the self-propelled device to move. A biasing assembly can be included to enable the internal drive system to continuously engage an inner surface of the spherical housing. An external accessory magnetically interacts with interior magnetic components through the spherical housing such that as the self-propelled device rotates and maneuvers, the accessory component maintains a positional relationship to a top portion of the self-propelled device.

  • Publication number: 20120236201
Abstract: Various techniques are disclosed for authoring and/or presenting packages of multimedia content. In at least one embodiment, the digital multimedia package may include video content, audio content, and text transcription content representing a transcription of the audio content. The video content, audio content, and text transcription content are each maintained in continuous synchronization with each other during video playback, and also as a user selectively navigates to different scenes of the video content. The text transcription content is presented via an interactive Resources Display GUI. Interacting with the Resources Display GUI, a user may cause the displayed text to dynamically scroll to a different portion of the text transcription corresponding to a different scene of the video.
