Patent number: 10468212Abstract: An apparatus for an electrical switch that includes a rotor cam having a rotor interface, a handle interface, and a spring arm interface. The rotor interface includes a plurality of side interface features that couple the rotor cam to a rotor of the electrical switch so that rotation of the rotor cam causes rotation of the rotor. The handle interface allows coupling of the rotor cam to a handle, wherein the handle interface is sized so as to allow a predetermined amount of independent rotation of the handle relative to the rotor cam before further rotation of the handle causes rotation of the rotor cam. The spring arm interface couples a spring arm of the electrical switch to the rotor cam so that a bias spring of the spring arm biases the spring arm against the rotor cam. Numerous other embodiments are provided.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 2017Date of Patent: November 5, 2019Assignee: SIEMENS INDUSTRY, INC.Inventors: Troy Groehl, Dan A. Fisher

Patent number: 9991611Abstract: A device is provided for use with an electrical apparatus. The device comprises a wiring lug having a side and a base configured to receive a mounting screw. The wiring lug is configured to connect with a wire. The device further comprises a shaped spring configured to apply a force to a fuse for maintaining an electrical connection between the fuse and the wiring lug thus eliminating a separate electrical bus part that in a typical installation would pass a current from a conductive fuse clip to the wiring lug. The shaped spring provides a fuse clip with one side defined by the shaped spring and other side defined by the side of the wiring lug to contact a ferrule on the fuse or contact a blade extending from the ferrule on the fuse.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 2017Date of Patent: June 5, 2018Assignee: Siemens Industry, Inc.Inventors: Thomas Jameson, Dan A. Patent number: 8248194Abstract: A disconnect switch includes a case having a movable contact, a stationary contact and a plurality of magnets. The movable contact is adapted to move from a first closed position where it is in physical contact with the stationary contact to a second open position. The magnets are located at predefined locations and in predefined orientations about the axis of movement of the movable contact, whereby upon the movement of the movable contact from the first position to the second open position, a current arc created by the movable contact is extinguished.Type: GrantFiled: May 26, 2010Date of Patent: August 21, 2012Assignee: Siemens Industry, Inc.Inventors: Dan A. Fisher, Michael J. Holland

Publication number: 20070068021Abstract: A device for marking a plurality of marks includes a marking line having a plurality of marking elements disposed at predetermined intervals; a marking medium container housing a marking medium and a reeling means, said marking medium container having an aperture for dispensing and retracting said line. The marking elements are marker balls adapted to adhere to chalk. The marker balls are disposed in pairs having first and second marker balls which are separated by one and one-half inches along said marking line, and in which subsequent ones of said pairs are spaced such that the first marker ball of each pair is separated from an adjacent first marker ball of an adjacent pair by a distance of sixteen inches. In a second embodiment, the spacing between adjacent first marker balls is twenty four inches, and in a third embodiment the spacing between adjacent first marker balls is a distance of nineteen and three-sixteenth inches.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 21, 2006Publication date: March 29, 2007Inventor: Dan Fisher

Publication number: 20070022688Abstract: An adjustable corner bead which can join two wall members or board members at a plurality of angles can be set up relatively easily, and is portable, easy to transport, and easy to store. The adjustable corner bead has a first support member and a second support member. The first support member has a substantially flat portion adapted to be secured to a wall or board member, and also has a curved portion formed by two curved members extending substantially in parallel with each other from one end of the substantially flat portion. The two curved members form a slot therebetween. The second support member has a substantially flat portion adapted to be secured to a wall or board member, and has a curved portion formed by a single curved member which is adapted to be received within the slot formed in the first support member. Each of the curved portions has a shape corresponding to the outmost surface of a substantially right regular cylindical member.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 21, 2006Publication date: February 1, 2007Inventor: Dan Fisher

Publication number: 20060124395Abstract: An improved folding saw horse has a main beam support member and pivotable legs connected thereto by bolts with locking nuts which pass through pivot bores in the main beam support member. The main beam support member is reinforced by a pair of end flex support members at opposite ends thereof. The main beam support member also includes bores which receive securement pins. In use the securement pins would be disposed in a lowermost set of bores in the main beam support member to lock the legs in position. There are also an upper set of bores to receive the securement pins 70 when the legs are in a folded position within the body of the main beam support member. The securement pins retain the legs within the interior of the main beam support member. The main beam support member is a generally inverted U-shaped member having angled sidewalls which preferably extend at an angle of approximately 70 degrees from the plane of the uppermost surface of the main beam support member.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 10, 2004Publication date: June 15, 2006Inventor: Dan Fisher
