Abstract: A battery assembly for an electric vehicle including a first battery unit, a DC/DC converter, and a battery receptacle for selectively receiving a second battery unit. The first battery unit is electrically connected to the DC/DC converter. Moreover, a first electric connection interface is positioned in the battery receptacle and is electrically connected to the DC/DC converter. Additionally, a vehicle including such a battery assembly is presented. Furthermore, a method for operating an electric vehicle is explained. A first operational mode includes electrically connecting the first battery unit to an electric traction machine and electrically connecting the second battery unit to the first battery unit. A second operational mode includes electrically connecting the second battery unit to the electric traction machine.

Abstract: A sub-frame arrangement (1) in a vehicle and method thereof wherein the sub-frame arrangement comprises a sub-frame (2), a first body member, and rear attachment means for attaching said sub-frame to the first body member. The sub-frame is a dual part sub-frame comprising a lower sheet section (2b) formed in a single piece wherein said lower sheet section extends the entire length of said sub-frame. The lower sheet section is further formed with two rear portions (21) each extending backwards in the travel direction of said vehicle and the rear portions are adapted to host the rear attachment means.

Each attachment socket is adapted to host a fastening means arranged in a through going apertures of each attachment socket and adapted to fasten said sub-frame to the body member. The fastening means are adapted to fasten a front section of said sub-frame, first and second attachment sockets each comprises a weakened portion arranged at an angle separated from the vehicle deformation direction during a front collision, and the weakened portions are adapted to give way releasing the sub-frame in the event of deformation of the vehicle.
