The recirculation system has a supply line and a return line and diverter valve which is operated for a period of time before the emulsification process begins. The method includes the steps of purging mixed polymeric solution from the volute of a pump after mixing and a recirculation cavity for delivering a portion of mixed diluted polymeric solution to a flow of concentrated polymeric solution before eduction and hydration.
