  • Patent number: 6948301
Abstract: A device for raising or lowering the individual raking wheels on a foldable hay rake has a rake arm with a plurality of raking wheels, the device comprises a lift tube that is slidably mounted to the rake arm and is hingedly attached to the plurality of raking wheels. The device further comprises a hydraulic cylinder with a fixed end attached to the rake arm and an extendable cylinder rod attached to the forward end of the lift tube. As the cylinder rod operates, it pulls the lift tube from the forward end, thereby raising the raking wheels.

  • Patent number: 6330785
Abstract: A lifting force is applied to a wheel rake arm through a spring assembly wherein a coil spring is placed in compression rather than tension. In the preferred embodiment a rod is connected at one end to a rake wheel arm and the free end of the rod extends through a sleeve and then a coil spring which engages a stop at the opposite end of the rod. The sleeve is connected by linkages to an actuating rod.

  • Patent number: 6212866
Abstract: The line of pull from a prime mover extends along a tongue assembly pivotally connected to a wheel rake frame assembly and intersects with the rear discharge end of the frame assembly when the rake is at its maximum angle of attack and with the extended longitudinal axis when the angle of attack is at its minimum thereby balancing forces on the rake and minimizing rake drift such that a consistent width of cut material can be raked.

  • Patent number: 6178728
Abstract: A pair of implements such as hay windrow fluffers are interconnected by a hitch assembly allowing for positioning the fluffers in a side-by-side field position or trailing transport position. A tongue assembly on the second implement is connected to the tongue assembly on the first implement when the implements are in a field position. An extendable linkage interconnects the implements and extends laterally when the implements are in a field position and parallel to the line of travel when the implements are in the transport position. The linkage has vertical posts at opposite ends which connect to the tongue assemblies of the implements to allow the linkage to extend over the front first implement when in the transport position.

  • Patent number: 6151877
Abstract: A hub guard includes a vertical wall portion preferably semi-circular in shape covering the upper half of the interconnected hub plate and teeth mounting plate and associated bolts. In an alternative embodiment, the guard vertical wall extends down on opposite sides of the hub housing terminating in end edges spaced apart to define an access opening to the teeth mounting bolts with the width of the access opening being at least as great as the width of the hub housing to allow for mounting of the guard on the housing and removal without removal of the rake wheel.

  • Patent number: 5899055
Abstract: A "V" type pull rake includes a rigid primary frame to which rake arms are pivoted for movement about vertical and horizontal axes. The rake arms include at their outer ends upstanding posts to which control assemblies are connected and extend over the rake wheels and raked material to the primary frame. The control assembly includes a pair of pivotally interconnected members with the control assembly of each rake arm including two pivotal connections allowing pivotal movement about vertical and horizontal axes. Rake arms extensions are pivotally connected to the outer ends of the rake arms and actuating rods for raising and lowering the rake wheels extend along the rake arms over the pivotal connection to the rake arm extension and include a pivot rod for allowing the actuating rod to function when the rake arm extension is pivoted relative to the rake arm.

  • Patent number: 5201167
Abstract: A multiple implement frame includes front and rear implement mounting bars which maintain a parallel relationship at all times. The rear mounting bar may be displaced either to the left or right through operation of a power cylinder extending between the front mounting bar and an elongated frame member extending to the rear mounting bar. Single or double elongated frame members may be utilized. A single power cylinder is required with the double frame member unit and a pair of power cylinders are used for the single elongated frame unit. A double frame unit forms a parallelogram.

  • Patent number: 4179870
Abstract: A pair of cutter bar-type mowers are rearwardly and laterally offset on a mower frame having steerable wheels for moving the mower between a cutting position offset from the tractor and a transport position directly behind the tractor. A spring-assisted power cylinder raises and lowers the cutting bar from a ground-engaging cutting position to a position with the cutter bar raised off the ground and then to a position with the cutter bar extending vertically for transport. The spring functions only to assist in raising the cutter bar off the ground by pivoting a frame arm and the pivoting of the cutter bar to the vertical position is by the power cylinder only. A nonbinding power takeoff drive is provided between the tractor and the mower with universal joints being provided on the tractor power takeoff and on the tongue of the mower at equal distances from the pivotal connection of the drawbar and tongue whereby the tractor turned at a 90.degree. angle to the mower causes only a 45.degree.
