Patent number: 11809605Abstract: An intrusion detection and recovery system includes a copying module that creates a point-in-time copy of a storage level logical unit, the point-in-time copy including a volume copy of the storage level logical unit and signatures of the storage level logical unit, a comparison module that compares at least a portion of the point-in-time copy with a previous copy of the storage level logical unit, a judging module that, based on results of the comparison module, judges if a modification has occurred. A signature of the point-in-time copy is compared with a signature of the previous copy to detect a sign of an intrusion. The signatures of the storage level logical unit include encoded data of files of the storage level logical unit that are monitored in the point-in-time copy.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 2020Date of Patent: November 7, 2023Assignee: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATIONInventors: Bulent Abali, Mohammad Banikazemi, Dan Edward Poff

Publication number: 20220340298Abstract: A ground vehicle-based aircraft launching system automatically adjusts aircraft pitch and yaw during a ground vehicle-based launching operation, and automatically releases the aircraft upon attainment of a pre-designated lift angle with respect to the ground vehicle and the launching system. The launching system transfers primary thrust direction loads, allowing the aircraft to freely pitch and yaw based on prevailing wind and aerodynamics. A latch mechanism on the launching system moves within both the yaw and pitch directions with the aircraft, and maintains a positive lock on the aircraft prior to its release from the launching system. A yaw mechanism allows passive zeroing of sideslip winds, which in turn may avoid yawing, rolling, and/or yaw-roll coupled induced roll forces.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 19, 2022Publication date: October 27, 2022Inventors: Kurt Parsons, Dan Edwards

Patent number: 8078094Abstract: The disclosed architecture provides a co-siting solution to the many different proprietary systems that are being sold today for cellular communications. The architecture is a universal multi-purpose signal distribution chassis for conditioning and distributing cellular communications signals by providing the interface to a wide variety of cellular communications equipment on the market. A receive interface receives signals, amplifies the signals, and splits (or distributes) the signals for communications to various pieces of equipment and technologies that can be employed in a base station tower system, for example. This is particularly useful in co-siting situations where many different types of technologies and equipment are hosted by one set of antennas.Type: GrantFiled: June 6, 2007Date of Patent: December 13, 2011Assignee: AT&T Mobility II LLCInventors: Kurt Huber, Dan Edwards, Sheldon Meredith

Patent number: 8060772Abstract: A computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer usable program product for managing redundant array of independent drives. In response to a failure of a hard disk in a first RAID array, the process calculates an amount of free capacity available across a set of remaining hard disks in the first RAID array. The set of remaining hard disks comprises every hard disk associated with the first RAID array except the failed disk. In response to a determination that the amount of free capacity is sufficient to re-create the first RAID array at a same RAID level, the process reconstructs the first RAID array using an amount of space in the set of remaining drives utilized by the first RAID array and the free capacity to form a new RAID array without utilizing a spare hard disk.Type: GrantFiled: January 4, 2008Date of Patent: November 15, 2011Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Bulent Abali, Mohammad Banikazemi, James L. Hafner, Dan Edward Poff, Krishnakumar Surugucchi
