  • Publication number: 20200285061
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a heads up display (HUD) system configured for use with a pair of swimming goggles comprising first and second eye cups, a nose bridge connected to inner sides of the eye cups, and strap mounting portions on outer sides of the eye cups. The HUD system comprises an electronics and optics modules. The electronics module comprises a water tight housing and a processor, memory, power supply, sensors and a display within the water tight housing. The processor processes signals from the sensors to determine swimming performance data and controls the display to generate an image containing the swimming performance data. The optics module is mounted on one of the eye cups and is coupled to the electronics module for receiving the image from the display. The optics module extends from the electronics module and has one or more light directing features for redirecting the image toward an eye of a user to generate a redirected image.

  • Publication number: 20180113507
Abstract: A head-mounted information system is provided, the head-mounted information system comprising a frame configured to be mounted on a head of a user, a display unit coupled to the frame, a sensor unit coupled to the frame comprising one or more motion sensors, and, a processor unit coupled to the frame and connected to receive signals from the motion sensors. The processor unit comprises a processor and a memory accessible by the processor. The processor unit is configured to monitor the received signals and enter a gesture control mode upon detection of a gesture control enable signal. In the gesture control mode the processor is configured to convert signals received from the motion sensors into menu navigation commands.

  • Patent number: 9354447
Abstract: A head mounted information system comprises a frame configured to be worn by a user, a sensor unit coupled to the frame, and a processor unit coupled to the frame. The processor unit is connected to receive signals from the sensor unit. The sensor unit comprises a gyroscope configured to produce angular velocity signals representing a head angular velocity about a generally horizontal axis oriented generally perpendicular to a direction the user is facing when the user is wearing the frame. The processor unit is configured to detect a jump by the user based on the angular velocity signals received from the sensor unit and generate a jump output signal indicting one or more jump parameters. A display unit may also be coupled to the frame to display the jump parameters to the user.
