    Abstract: A cutting tool includes a shank fixedly mounted to a tool holder of a lathe and orientated generally radially to a workpiece rotated by the lathe, a head at one end of the shank having a recess for receiving the workpiece and orientated generally axially to the workpiece, and a plurality of cutting inserts mounted to the head and disposed about the recess for cutting and removing material from the workpiece as the head moves axially along the workpiece.
