Patent number: 9644856Abstract: A system and method for monitoring and controlling an energy demand by an HVAC system utilizes a control device that is operably installed in the HVAC system. The system performs the following steps: receiving, in a control device, values of one or more parameters related to performance of the plurality of powered components; comparing the received values with corresponding predetermined threshold values; determining overloading of the electrical grid by a powered component based on respective values of one or more parameters being less than the corresponding predetermined threshold values for the powered component; and selectively controlling the operation of the powered component without disrupting operation of the remaining plurality of powered components.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 2015Date of Patent: May 9, 2017Assignee: System Performance Technologies, LLCInventors: Brian Mark Francis, Donald Raymond Rosentreter, Dan Lee Keown

Patent number: 7773606Abstract: According to one embodiment of the invention, a network element synchronizes a number of clocks within the system while supporting multiple independent timing domains. The network element includes a local clock, which is free-running and is not necessarily synchronized with an external reference, that synchronously provides a local time value to the slave and master interfaces of each timing domain. Each slave interface of each timing domain independently determines timing information based on a received master clock synchronization event and the value of the local time when that synchronization event was received. The timing information is distributed to the master interfaces of the appropriate timing domain, and each master interface calculates an adjusted synchronization event based on the received timing information and the value of the local time when that timing information was received. The adjusted synchronization events are transmitted out of the network element to an external slave interface.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 2008Date of Patent: August 10, 2010Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Iouri Dobjelevski, Darwin N. Patent number: 7134503Abstract: The wellbore pump of the present invention comprises a plunger having passage means which may be open or closed by a valve operated by a piston which is biased in the open position by a spring of selected strength such that the wellbore pressure may overcome the spring to close the valve when the accumulated hydrostatic pressure reaches a certain value. When the valve closes the reservoir pressure forces the plunger to the surface and causes the accumulated liquids to be pumped out of the wellbore. A stem extending from the top of the piston engages a top plate and causes the valve to open when the plunger reaches the top of the wellbore. Means is provided whereby the valve opens when it reaches the top of the wellbore and a latch may be provided to retain the plunger from returning to the bottom of the well.Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 2006Date of Patent: November 14, 2006Assignee: Natural Lift Systems Inc.Inventor: Dan Lee

Patent number: 6842117Abstract: A filter condition sensing circuit includes current and voltage sensors and a data processor. The current and voltage sensors produce signals indicating magnitudes of electrical current and voltage, respectively, provided to an electric motor used to move a fluid (a gas or liquid) through a filter element. During a first time period, the data processor uses the signals to determine an acceptable range of electrical power required by the motor. During a second time period, the data processor uses the signals to determine a magnitude of electrical power required by the motor. When the magnitude of electrical power is within the acceptable range of electrical power, the data processor generates a signal indicating a normal condition of the filter element. A described filter condition indicating system includes the circuit. A method is for determining a condition of a filter element.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 2003Date of Patent: January 11, 2005Assignee: Filter ense of Texas, Ltd.Inventor: Dan Lee Keown
