    Abstract: A cable enclosure includes a housing defining an opening through which an interior of the housing is accessible. An end plate is releasably secured to the housing to cover the opening such that the interior of the housing is not accessible. The end plate includes a first conductive leg in electrical communication with a first cable within the housing. The end plate also includes a second conductive leg in electrical communication with a second cable within the housing. The end plate further includes a conductive member movable between a first position and a second position. When in the first position, the conductive member is in contact with the first conductive leg and the second conductive leg. When in the second position, the conductive member is not in contact with at least one of the first conductive leg or the second conductive leg.

    Abstract: A breakout device for mid-span fiber separation. First and second portions that each have a hollow interior space that defines a first part of a primary interior pathway and that defines a first part of a secondary interior pathway that branches away from the primary pathway. The first and second portions together bound the primary and secondary pathways. The first and second portions together define: a first entrance orifice, a second exit orifice and a third exit orifice. The first and second portions are configured to permit in-situ placement of the device upon elongated fibers. All the fibers extend through the first entrance orifice at the entrance to the primary pathway, a first group of the fibers extend through the second exit orifice at an exit from the primary pathway, and a second group of the fibers extend through the third exit orifice at an exit from the secondary pathway.

    Abstract: The specification discloses a cable (e.g., fiber optic) housing assembly that facilitates securing cables and splices within its interior while providing a convenient work tray to assist a technician when splicing cables above ground level. The housing assembly can be equipped with a grommet and bobbin assembly that secures cables within the interior of the housing. Additionally, modular splice blocks can be configured within the interior of the housing in order to secure cable splices. In aspects, these modular splice blocks can be added as needed in a variety of configurations, including but not limited to, vertical stacking, horizontal back-to-back, or the like. The modular characteristics of the splice blocks enhance the as-needed extensibility of the housing assembly.
