  • Publication number: 20140275396
Abstract: Low-gloss coatings including acrylic polymer and isophthalic polyester compositions are disclosed. The presence of separate acrylic polymer and isophthalic polyester phases in the coating provides a low-gloss finish while maintaining properties such as hardness and mar resistance of the coatings.

  • Patent number: 7928160
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a coating composition comprising polyurea and polyurethane. Further, the present invention is directed to a coating composition comprising polyurea or, polyurea and polyurethane, and flame retardant. The polyurea is formed from a reaction mixture comprising isocyanate and amine wherein the ratio of equivalents of isocyanate groups to equivalents of amine groups is greater than 1 and the isocyanate-functional component and the amine-functional component can be applied to a substrate at a volume mixing ratio of 1:1.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 27, 2006
Date of Patent: April 19, 2011
    Assignee: PPG Industries Ohio, Inc.
Inventors: Howard Senkfor, Paul P. Greigger, Thomas R. Hockswender, Dan M. Bratys
  • Publication number: 20110076485
Abstract: The present invention is directed to substrates coated with a transparent or translucent film-forming composition, prepared from a curable, two-package composition comprising a first and second reactive package. The first reactive package contains a polyamine component comprising: i) a polyether functional polyamine; ii) an aspartic ester functional polyamine; and iii) an aliphatic polyamine. The second reactive package comprises a polyisocyanate, and the curable composition, under ambient conditions, upon mixing of the reactive packages, demonstrates a gel time of at least 2500 seconds.

  • Publication number: 20080211252
Abstract: A method of repairing a vehicle bed-liner includes depositing a two-component patching material into the defect and placing a template having a design surface over the defect in the bed-liner, with the design surface facing the defect. A rigid backing plate can be placed over the template. The template is biased toward the patching material to form a patch in the bed-liner.

    Publication date: September 4, 2008
    Applicant: PPG INDUSTRIES OHIO, INC.
