  • Publication number: 20240115455
Abstract: A mobility device configurable in a first walk configuration and a second stair-climb configuration, including a frame with movable front leg portions, a leg-actuation system connected to the front leg portions and a safety-control device mounted to the frame. The safety-control device includes a configuration selector, and a lever connected to the leg-actuation system and configured to actuate the cable actuation system so as to cause the first and second movable leg portions to move from a first position to a second position. The lever remains locked in a first lever position such that the lever cannot be moved unless the configuration selector is in a depressed position, thereby preventing inadvertent movement of the leg portion.

  • Patent number: 11927472
Abstract: Modular storage systems include load sensors disposed beneath or in association with platforms. The load sensors are pulse-sampled for signals corresponding to loads at time intervals, rather than continuously, in order to conserve electrical power. An item associated with a transaction is identified based on a change in the loads, as determined from the pulse-sampled signals. The platforms are aligned at horizontal or non-horizontal angles, and photovoltaic power sources with banks of photovoltaic cells are mounted to front edges of the platforms. When a user reaches over one of the photovoltaic cells to access an item on a platform, a level of power or voltage generated by the photovoltaic cell is diminished. The item closest to the photovoltaic cell having the diminished power or voltage, or a customer that accessed the item, may be identified accordingly.

  • Publication number: 20120198657
Abstract: A telescoping adjustable pivot sliding hinge system, for mounting a door with at least a portion of the side edge of the door projecting into the opening when the door is in an open position, is disclosed. An upper mounting plate is mounted onto the door's top edge and is fastened to the door's interior side. First and second guide tracks are installed onto the header of the door opening. The upper mounting plate includes a pair of guide members that are operatively moveably engaged respectively with the first and second guide tracks. A lower mounting plate is mounted on a lower horizontal surface of the door opening, and includes a lower guide track and a telescoping adjustable pivot arm that is horizontally and rotationally captured at a proximal end thereof by the lower mounting plate. The lower mounting plate can be adjusted in relation to the base plate, and can be locked permanently with the said base plate by two machine screws and two nuts.

  • Publication number: 20080263800
Abstract: Mini Roller Cleaner is a handle and rod dimensioned to hold standard paint roller covers or mini roller covers. To use the preferred embodiment of Mini Roller Cleaner, a user places a mini paint roller cover or other roller cover on the rod after use and then places the device with the roller cover into a regular size roller spinner for cleaning.

  • Publication number: 20030172447
Abstract: The Odor-Vac is an attachment that can easily be added to an existing toilet to extract odor from the toilet bowl as the user relieves oneself The odor in the toilet is extracted via a fan mounted over a hole in the wall behind the toilet through perforated hoses placed under the toilet seat and connected to the fan housing on the wall. One of the unique features of this invention is that, unlike most other inventions patented to accomplish this task, this attachment can be sold to the general public, who can attach to existing toilets using common tools and skills.

  • Patent number: 5206154
Abstract: A polynucleotide molecule expressible in a given host comprising the sequence of the araB promoter operably linked to a gene which is heterologous to said host. The heterologous gene codes for a peptide that is biologically active. The invention also relates to a genetic construct which comprises a first genetic sequence coding for cecropin operably linked to a second genetic sequence coding for a polypeptide which is capable of suppressing the bactericidal effect of the resulting fusion protein towards an otherwise cecropin sensitive bacterium.
