  • Patent number: 9712381
Abstract: Systems and methods for locating network errors. The system includes a plurality of host nodes in a network of host nodes and intermediary nodes, and a database storing route data for each of a plurality of host node pairs. The system includes a controller configured to identify a subject intermediary node to investigate for network errors and select, using route data stored in the database, a set of target probe paths. Each target probe path includes a respective pair of host nodes separated by a network path including at least one target intermediary node, which is either the subject intermediary node or an intermediary node that is a next-hop neighbor of the subject intermediary node. The controller is configured to test each target probe path in the set of target probe paths and to determine, based on a result of the testing, an operational status of the subject intermediary node.

  • Publication number: 20160301612
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for allocating resources of a network among a plurality of traffic demands to optimize fairness and network utilization. Methods based on flow-increase dynamics converge toward an upward max-min fair (UMMF) allocation, in which the value of each traffic demand cannot be increased, along any of its paths, even if larger traffic demands are removed from the network. An efficient iterative algorithm that converges to a UMMF solution is also provided. The described methods and systems can be implemented efficiently, distributively, and asynchronously.

  • Patent number: 9369360
Abstract: Systems and methods for fault detection in large scale networks are provided. Probing instructions are generated by a probing controller associated with a network having a plurality of nodes. The probing instructions include a specified source node and a specified destination node. Each probing instruction is transmitted to a probing agent coupled to the specified source node and a data packet is transmitted from the probing agent to the specified destination node. A fault detection module is informed of probing instructions associated with failed transmissions, identifies a plurality of nodes having a likelihood of being in a network path associated with failed transmissions, and processes the plurality of nodes having a likelihood of being in the network paths associated with failed transmissions to identify of a set of likely failed nodes.

  • Publication number: 20140190098
Abstract: A closure includes a panel closing against a frame. A set of abutment surfaces for supporting the panel against applied forces is completed by a displaceable abutment block which selectively assumes an engaged state disposed between an abutment surface of the panel and an abutment surface of a strike jamb. The geometry of engagement is such that forces acting on the abutment block opposing opening of the panel are primarily compressive forces. Certain implementations additionally, or alternatively, employ abutment blocks for locking along the lintel or the threshold of the opening.

  • Publication number: 20130169020
Abstract: A seating system for supporting a user in a seated position employs a worn article (10), such as a tactical vest or a backpack, carried on the torso of the user (12). An anchoring system is deployed in defined spatial relation to a lower seat support (16). The anchoring system and the worn article have complementary connecting portions (20) selectively interconnectable to anchor the worn article (10) relative to the lower seat support (16) so that the lower seat support and the worn article together define a seat for supporting the user in a seated position with a region (14) of the worn article providing a back rest. The complementary connecting portions are disconnectable to allow the user to move freely with the worn article remaining on the torso of the user.
