  • Patent number: 9049979
Abstract: An ultrasound imaging system (10) includes a display (16) for displaying an ultrasound image and an analysis package operatively connected to the image display. The analysis package provides a user the ability to manage an ultrasound measurement-based calculation. The analysis package facilitates the management of the measurement-based calculation by displaying for the user a sequence of data entry steps. Information necessary for managing the calculation is accepted and verified at each step and then, also used to determine which step to display next. At the conclusion of the final step, the measurement-based calculation is saved in the system.

  • Publication number: 20100234731
Abstract: An ultrasonic diagnostic imaging system produces a spectral Doppler display on which automated measurements may be made. The waveform is analyzed by the ultrasound system to identify the peak velocity of each cardiac cycle of the sequence, and the cardiac cycle with the highest peak velocity value. When a measurement tool is launched, the system displays the highest peak velocity cycle and makes the selected measurement on the data of that heart cycle. The system may advantageously use a peak velocity tracing algorithm in support of this feature. The technique can be used with a variety of measurement tools.

  • Publication number: 20090124907
Abstract: Significant liver growths such as HCC lesions are detected during a contrast agent ultrasound exam by their early reception of contrast and brightening following a bolus injection, as compared with surrounding normal tissue and benign growths. A pixel classifier looks for and identifies pixel or voxel regions where this early wash-in of contrast occurs and denotes these pixel or voxel locations in a parametric image. The pixel classifier analyzes pixel or voxel values from a sequence of images and identifies suspicious regions in an image by uniquely coding the points in a parametric liver image where early wash-in occurs.

  • Publication number: 20090076384
Abstract: An analysis feature of an ultrasonic diagnostic system contains one or more exam protocols which guide a sonographer in carrying out one or more standardized ultrasound exams. During the conduct of an exam protocol template protocol steps are available. The sonographer can augment the standard protocol by selecting one of these template protocol steps and giving it a unique name for the current protocol. The execution of this added step will automatically invoke the diagnostic tools, such as measurements and calculations, which are inherent in the cloned conventional protocol step. In addition, the sonographer can add other diagnostic tools to the added step. The results of the standard and customized protocol steps are automatically recorded in the proper sequence and context of an automatically produced diagnostic report.

  • Publication number: 20080039725
Abstract: An ultrasonic diagnostic imaging system produces a spectral Doppler display on which a parameter such as peak or mean velocity is automatically traced. If the user is dissatisfied with the automatically drawn trace (30), the user can manipulate a cursor (88) on the display screen to grab a point (82, 86) on the trace and drag the trace to a new location relative to the spectral display or manually redraw a portion of the trace. In an illustrated embodiment the spectral Doppler trace (80) includes defined key timing points in the heart cycle which can be adjusted by the user in both the velocity and time dimensions of the display. Graphically displayed values and calculations of the display are automatically updated in response to adjustment of the trace.
