  • Publication number: 20240077291
Abstract: Apparatuses and techniques for reducing backlash between components in a transmission system are provided. The apparatuses and techniques provide a controllable torque over a target range of motion of a component in the transmission system. This eliminates the play at the interfaces between components and forces the components to maintain a controlled contact between the interfacing surfaces.

  • Publication number: 20230344069
Abstract: A lithium-ion battery assembly includes a plurality of battery cells in a spaced-apart and generally parallel arrangement, each cell of the battery cells extending along a central axis and having a first end portion with a negative terminal and a second end portion with a positive terminal. The assembly includes a first capture plate and a second capture plate, where at least the first capture plate defines capture plate openings corresponding to the plurality of battery cells, the first capture plate spaced from and oriented generally parallel to the second capture plate. Each of the plurality of battery cells extends between the first and second capture plates and is coaxially arranged with one of the capture plate openings in the first capture plate. The assembly optionally includes a body between the capture plates, the body defining a void for each battery cell.

  • Publication number: 20210055085
Abstract: A puncturing feature is provided on the deployable wings of a precision guidance kit of a rocket to facilitate breaking through the wing slot seal that protecting the wings prior to deployment. The puncturing feature may be a sharp region on the leading edge near the wing tip that first contacts the wing slot seal. The puncturing feature may be a sharp edge extended along the leading edge of the wing to provide a cutting action as the wing passes through the wing slot seal.

  • Patent number: 8530765
Abstract: An apparatus for selectively connecting and disconnecting a high voltage source includes a mechanical actuator including a plurality of stations. Each station includes connection elements that are electrically connectable to one or more corresponding high voltage modules which are part of a plurality of high voltage modules. The plurality of high voltage modules are electrically connectable to each other. The mechanical actuator has a connected position and a disconnected position for simultaneously electrically connecting each of the plurality of high voltage modules to each other, and for simultaneously electrically disconnecting each of the plurality of high voltage modules from each other.

  • Patent number: 8462487
Abstract: A power system for connecting high voltage components includes an enclosure having an interior space. A plurality of high voltage (HV) components are removably coupled to the enclosure and positioned in the interior space of the enclosure. The plurality of HV components are electrically coupled to each other. A motor is positioned outside the enclosure, and the motor is electrically interconnected through the enclosure to one of the HV components. A heat sink is positioned within the interior space for providing thermal heat transfer away from the components.

  • Patent number: 5180886
Abstract: A facade assembly for an electric socket consists of a support for mounting to the socket, a cover plate to provide a raised decorative area that covers the socket, and a wallplate to surround the raised area and snap onto the cover plate. The facade assembly provides an attractive "designer-style" appearance that permits easy replacement of modular elements that determine the aesthetic qualities of the assembly.
