Abstract: Embodiments of the invention can include systems and methods for dispensing consumable products. In one embodiment, a product dispenser is provided. The product dispenser can include a user interface operable to receive consumer inputs and to present product selection information. In addition, the product dispenser can include a reader configured to obtain identification information associated with a consumer. The product dispenser can include a controller in communication with the reader and user interface, and operable to execute a set of instructions to receive from the reader identification information associated with a consumer. The controller can also be operable to execute a set of instructions operable to retrieve consumer information based at least in part on the identification information, and provide product selection information at the user interface based at least in part on the consumer information.

Abstract: A computing device is used for creating a dimensional model of at least a portion of a product, the dimensional model including a range of possible conditions with respect to at least one component in the product. The dimensional model is used to create a set of geometries for the product, a geometry being a representation of at least a portion of the product, wherein each of the geometries corresponds to one or more of the conditions. A display is provided of a first one of the geometries, and then, upon receiving an input requesting a second one of the geometries, a display is provided of the requested second one of the geometries.

Abstract: A system is provided for updating attributes of a display for rendering an image. The system includes a tool, a host device, and a monitor including the display. The tool is utilized by the user to define the desired display attributes and to create and export a configuration file which includes the attribute information. The tool allows for creation of the configuration file without requiring the user to have knowledge of the firmware associated with the display. The configuration file is received by the host device. During operation of the display and upon the occurrence of a triggering event, the host device provides updates to the memory addresses of a display controller to effectuate updates to the display attributes. The system includes a host agent and a display agent and provides the ability to update memory addresses of the display controller which are unassigned under the communications standard utilized.

Abstract: A container having enhanced wall integrity and a rotational element is provided that includes a sidewall having polygonal cross-sectional shape and an alignment structure formed therein. The alignment structure is adapted for orienting the container with respect to a second container such that the panel sections of the containers become parallel with one another and the containers may be fully nested one within the other. The alignment structure can be recessed into the sidewall to form peaks and valleys along an inner surface of the container. The peaks include first and second faces sloping in opposite directions designed to direct corners of the first container's sidewall toward the interior valleys of the second container in order to orient the containers as they are stacked.

Abstract: A system, apparatus, and method for encoding a video signal having at least one frame with a plurality of blocks. The method includes determining, for a first block in the at least one frame, a motion vector that describes a spatial relationship between the first block and a second block within a previously encoded frame that is similar to the first block, determining a complexity value representative of a complexity of the second block; determining a length value representative of a length of the motion vector; selecting a filter from a plurality of filters based on at least one of the length value or the complexity value wherein the plurality of filters includes at least a bicubic filter and a bilinear filter; and applying the selected filter to at least a portion of the previously encoded frame to derive a predictor block.

The virtual hybrid printer employs virtual controls for additional devices so that applications can directly employ the virtual hybrid printer in a manner that simulates all desired hybrid printer capabilities without the need for all physical devices corresponding to those capabilities.

Abstract: A movable cable loop descent system comprises a cable for forming into a loop, a receiver for attachment to a structure having a receiver pulley for engaging the cable loop, a brake assembly, having a drive pulley for being rotated by the cable loop, the brake assembly for slowing a rate of travel of the cable loop and a carriage supporting a load for attachment to the cable loop at a point and for movement between the structure and the ground. A rotor and substantially parallel conductive frame is mounted on an axle through the drive pulley. Magnets on a surface of the rotor and/or the frame induce eddy currents, as they are relatively rotated, which create a rotational braking force controlling descent of the carriage and load. The brake assembly may be removably positioned by a drive-on anchor. The cable is removable and the system may form a kit.

Abstract: In a Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) wireless local area network (WLAN) system, a method is provided for selecting at least one antenna from a plurality of antennas and transmitting a data frame from a station to an access point via the selected antenna or antennas. A method for transmitting data from a plurality of stations to an access point in the MIMO WLAN system includes detecting a channel status of a channel from the access point to each transmitting antenna of the station, selecting at least one transmitting antenna from among the station's transmitting antennas based on the detected channel status, and transmitting a data frame from the station to the access point via the selected transmitting antenna or antennas.

Abstract: A grade vent valve assembly includes a float moveable between a lowered position and a raised position. A lever is coupled to the float at a first end of the lever. The lever pivots about a fulcrum spaced from the first end in response to movement of the float between the raised position and the lowered position. The lever pivots between an open position when the float is in the lowered position, and a sealing position when the float is in the raised position. The lever seals an orifice when in the sealing position to block fluid flow through the orifice.

Abstract: A method for detecting changes in a building structure of a first wind turbine is provided. A reference value representing the eigenfrequency of the first wind turbine is monitored over time, whereby substantial changes in the reference value are used as an indication of changes in the building structure. Further, a detection assembly for such detections is provided.

Abstract: A process for the conversion of carbohydrates from any of a number of sources into butanol and hexanol for fuel or chemical use is disclosed. The process includes conducting a homoacetogenic fermentation to produce an acetic acid intermediate which is chemically converted to ethanol. The ethanol and a remaining portion of the acetic acid intermediate are used as a substrate in an acidogenic fermentation to produce butyric and caproic acid intermediates which are then chemically converted to butanol and hexanol.

Abstract: The invention comprises a method of providing additional assurance regarding a websites authenticity, The assurance is provided by using a credential that contains an image of the website operator or the website operator's business operations. The assurance is also provided by scanning the website associated with the credential for changes and alerting the website operator or a website visitor of the changes. The invention includes a method of ensuring the proper operation of the credential and a method of protecting the credential from mis-issuance.
