  • Publication number: 20120144244
Abstract: A method that determines the system impact of single event upset (SEU) and a single event upset (SEU) wrapper that controls a SEU controller is disclosed. The method injects faults into a component (e.g. FPGA, ASIC) of an operational system that is carrying live traffic and monitors the system's response to the faults to determine the impact of SEU on the system. The SEU wrapper sends the SEU controller a pattern scheme that includes information indicating when, where, how often, and/or how long to inject bursts of one or more faults into memory of the component of the system. A burst of faults contains faults that are consecutively injected into the array of memory blocks. After each fault in a burst is injected, one or more errors in one or more memory elements are detected and/or corrected. Information regarding the detection and/or the correction of an error is updated using registers that store counters. After injecting a burst of faults, the SEU controller waits for a predetermined amount of time.

  • Publication number: 20120144402
Abstract: A method for processing messages sent from software applications in a vehicle: Messages are received from an application, a user, or a sensor. The method generates outgoing messages based on message type received, and associates software applications with communication managers configured to attach message labels to messages, with the message label having at least a destination address. The outgoing message is transmitted through communication managers associated with software applications, arriving at a priority manager within the network. The priority manager receives outgoing message and ranks the priority value for the messages, and reassigns new priority values to messages that relate to collision circumstances. The priority manager sends the message with the new priority value to its destination address based on the message label. The message is received as an incoming message to be processed in the real-time vehicle applications according to the message labels.

  • Publication number: 20120137834
Abstract: A jaw assembly for a power tong or back-up tong is provided with a jaw die plate and a die seating surface that are shaped to permit radial insertion of the die plate (7) onto its seating surface (2). Both vertical (4) and horizontally (6) aligned splines, or spline segments are present on the seating surface. The vertical splines are interrupted along on at the end of their lengths by gaps (5a). Grooves (11) along with the protrusions (10) on the mating surface of the die plate interfit between the splines and/or spline segments and gaps to stabilize, or anchor the die plate on the seating surface against vertical displacement and to absorb rotational torque forces. The portion of the protrusions on the die plate that are positioned to extend into the gaps in the vertical splines support the die plate against vertical shearing forces, resisting disengagement of the die plate from its seating surface.

  • Publication number: 20120143620
Abstract: A method and system for determining a patient's responsibility to a provider includes a point of service device and a patient responsibility calculator. The point of service device receives information from the patient upon the patient checking in at the provider's location. Upon check in, the patient responsibility calculator determines substantially in real-time the amount owed by the patient for a service to be rendered prior to the patient receiving the service. The patient responsibility calculator utilizes information regarding the patient's insurance plan from the patient's insurance provider to determine the amount owed by the patient for the services. Once the amount owed by the patient is calculated, the point of service device prompts the patient for payment and processes payment.

  • Patent number: 8195638
Abstract: Computer implemented methods and systems are provided for web log filtering. A uniform resource locator (URL) is identified for a resource requested by an identified device. The URL is stored unless the URL has at a reference to an advertisement or an extension that matches any of a list of extensions specified for storage exclusion. The stored URL is categorized based on either the stored URL or an included domain name, depending on whether the included domain name matches any of the list of domain names that are associated with multiple categories. A count is incremented in a web log category associated with the identified device based on the categorized stored URL.

  • Patent number: 8194238
Abstract: A system includes a microprocessor, storage device, test instrument, switching system, main switching system with subsidiary, switching systems and the sensors. The program that is executed by the microprocessor accesses the database stored on the storage device. The microprocessor accesses information in the database and directs the switching system to select the appropriate sensor. Once the switching system has selected the appropriate sensor, the microprocessor then tells the test instrument to send a signal to the sensor. The test instrument sends the signal and collects the measured data. The measured data is then sent to the microprocessor, where the measured data is analyzed and compared with the baseline data. The comparison between the measured data and the baseline data reveals any anomalies that are occurring over the length of the sensor. The microprocessor displays the anomalies and keys an alarm when the anomalies are detected.
