  • Patent number: 10852288
Abstract: A method and apparatus includes devices for measuring the liquid rate, pressure, temperature and water cut from a production well, components and devices for diverting a liquid sample into a cylinder vessel, and components and devices for measuring parameters of the separated water phase of the liquid sample. The sample collection and analysis provides a means of significantly improving the accuracy of full-range water cut measurement by providing for improved calibration of a full range water cut meter.

  • Publication number: 20170350741
Abstract: A fluid analysis system receives a fluid sample having a first liquid component and a second liquid component. The fluid sample is taken from a pipeline through a sampling apparatus to obtain a representative sample of the fluid flowing through the pipe. The representative sample flows into a circulation loop having a circulating pump, a liquid component analyzer, and a cylindrical vessel, with interconnecting piping and actuated valves there between, with the actuated valves and the circulating pump controlled by a digital processor. Once a determination of the relative percentages of the first liquid component and the second liquid component have been determined, the processor stops the circulating pump and activates a piston in the cylindrical vessel which sweeps the cylindrical vessel of any fluid contained in the vessel in preparation of receiving a subsequent fluid sample.

  • Publication number: 20170342824
Abstract: An oil well production analyzing system receives production fluid samples from the oil well according to an automated sampling schedule. The fluid samples are taken from a pipeline through a sampling apparatus to obtain a representative sample. The representative sample flows into a circulation loop having a circulating pump, a water cut analyzer, and a cylindrical vessel, with interconnecting piping and actuated valves there between, with the actuated valves and the circulating pump controlled by a digital processor. Once a determination of the percentage of water and oil in the sample has been determined, the processor stops the circulating pump and activates a piston in the cylindrical vessel which sweeps the cylindrical vessel of any fluid contained in the vessel in preparation of receiving a subsequent fluid sample from the oil well.

  • Patent number: 9334728
Abstract: An oil well production analyzing system receives production fluid samples from the oil well according to an automated sampling schedule. The fluid samples are received within a degassing cylinder and separated into a liquid phase and a gas phase, with the liquid phase automatically transferred to a sampling cylinder for water cut analysis. Once the liquid phase has been transferred to the sampling cylinder, a piston within the degassing cylinder automatically evacuates all fluid from the cylinder in preparation of receiving a subsequent fluid sample from the oil well.
