Patent number: 11970086Abstract: A vehicle assembly includes a vehicle body and a driver seat. The vehicle body defines a driver compartment having a first door with a first window and a second door with a second window. The driver seat is disposed within the driver compartment. When the driver seat is in a position that accommodates an operator being in a 95th male height percentile, the operator within the driver seat can see out of (i) the first window at a first angle relative to a forward looking direction that is parallel with a longitudinal axis of the vehicle body and (ii) the second window at a second angle relative to the forward looking direction. Each of the first angle and the second angle is at least 95 degrees.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2023Date of Patent: April 30, 2024Assignee: Oshkosh CorporationInventors: Benjamin Andrews, Robert Wesley Holliday, Dan Nett, Annette Rantanen, Paul Schmidt, Nick Winter, Mitchell Wolfrath

Publication number: 20200209025Abstract: A flowmeter integrated with a controller that generates control signals for system components, such as valves, based in part on the fluid volume measurement. Additionally, or alternatively, where an ultrasonic flowmeter is used, it includes an embedded non-volatile memory chip which is a fixed part of the flowmeter mechanical structure, and which interfaces with replaceable electronic components to provide calibration data for the flow characteristics of the mechanical structure. Additionally, or alternatively, a digital flowmeter may provide a trickle-flow indication to help identify slow leakage conditions which are otherwise difficult to detect from a digital flowmeter display.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 30, 2018Publication date: July 2, 2020Inventor: Dan Winter

Publication number: 20190271575Abstract: A method and apparatus for measuring a fluid and determining a leak comprising the steps of providing a meter and a meter register coacting with the meter. When a leak is detected, a signal is transmitted from the meter register regarding fluid consumption. The transmitted signal indicates a leak either when the measured flow rate remains a fixed volume over a fixed period of time, or the measured flow rate exceeds a threshold value.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 20, 2019Publication date: September 5, 2019Inventor: Dan Winter

Patent number: 10330507Abstract: A meter register is disclosed herein, the meter register having a register body and a face cap secured to a cup forming an internal cavity, the face cap is sealed to the register body, a microprocessor and an antenna to transmit radio waves that is electrically coupled to the microprocessor are both contained within the internal cavity. A self-contained power source is coupled to the antenna, and a sensor is coupled to the microprocessor and adapted to sense movement of water through a meter. The microprocessor, power source, and sensor are contained within the internal cavity, and the internal cavity is at a different pressure than atmospheric pressure, and environmentally separated from the external atmosphere such that the antenna transmits from the antenna meter volume measurements. A utility meter having the aforementioned meter register is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2016Date of Patent: June 25, 2019Assignee: Arad Measuring Technologies Ltd.Inventor: Dan Winter

Publication number: 20160321133Abstract: A post-encryption checksum is generated for a file to be stored on a remote storage location. It can be generated before sending the encrypted file to the remote storage system. A post-write checksum can be received from the remote storage system. The post-write checksum is generated after the encrypted file is written there. A comparison of the two checksums indicates whether the file has been correctly written to the remote storage system.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 2, 2015Publication date: November 3, 2016Inventors: David Charles Oliver, Ming-wei Wang, Dan Winter, Parul Manek

Patent number: 8448845Abstract: A meter for flowing material, e.g., water, has a meter register having an electronic display, e.g., an LED or LCD display, and a mechanical read-out display driven by a stepper motor to record units of water that flowed through the meter. In the event of an electrical power failure, the LED or LCD readout values are lost, however, the mechanical read-out values remain. Further, signals are transmitted to a microprocessor of a meter register to change the rotation of the stepper motor so that the meter register can be used with different types of meters. Still further, a meter generator co-acting with a meter register forwards an electrical pulse signal after a quantity of material or utility passes through a water meter to a microprocessor of a remote reader. The remote reader includes an odometer coupled to a stepper motor.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 2012Date of Patent: May 28, 2013Assignee: Arad Measuring Technologies Ltd.Inventors: Dan Winter, Ronald N. Patent number: 7663503Abstract: A water meter has a meter register having an encoder having electromagnetic wave emitters, e.g., infrared emitters to measure water flow and direction of water flow through the meter. The encoder has two of three spaced emitters directing infrared rays at predetermined time intervals toward a rotating detector wheel having a reflective surface portion and a non-reflective surface portion facing the emitters and an infrared sensor. The reflective surface portion of the detecting wheel reflects the infrared rays incident thereon toward the sensor. A microprocessor connected to the sensor acts on signals from the sensor to determine material flow. The meter register transmits the signal to a distant receiver. The microprocessor of a meter register has an algorithm to prevent the meter register from sending signals until after the meter register or a water meter having a meter register is installed and water moved through the meter.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 2006Date of Patent: February 16, 2010Assignee: Arad Measuring Technologies Ltd.Inventor: Dan Winter
