  • Patent number: 11461886
Abstract: A method, related system and related computer program product are provided for monitoring wear of teeth of a drum of a double roll crusher. A processor receives a digital video capturing rotation of the drum and the teeth. For each frame of the digital video, the processor segments the frame into groups of contiguous pixels, wherein each group is representative of one of the teeth. The processor determines parameter indicative of a geometry of at least one of the teeth based on segmented groups of contiguous pixels in at least one of the frames of the digital video. The processor generates a human-readable report based on the parameter indicative of the geometry of the at least one of the teeth.

  • Patent number: 11098253
Abstract: A method for extracting bitumen from an oil sand slurry involves limiting the size of rock and clay lumps in the slurry to a first size, conditioning the slurry in a pipeline, screening the slurry through a rotary screening apparatus to remove the lumps that are larger than a second size, and subjecting the slurry to gravity separation to separate the bitumen as a bitumen froth. A fastener assembly for securing a screen panel to a drum shell of a rotary screening apparatus includes an outer insert for insertion into an aperture of a drum shell, an inner insert for insertion through an aperture of the screen panel and into an inward facing pocket of the outer insert, and a bolt for securing together the outer and inner inserts. An insert for removable insertion into an aperture of a drum of a rotary screening apparatus defines a screening aperture.

  • Patent number: 10815066
Abstract: A system for correcting transverse misalignment of a conveyor belt relative to a supporting pulley, includes a frame is pivotally attached to a stationary member. A guide surface engages the frame to guide pivoting of the frame about the pivot point simultaneously about a vertical axis and a longitudinally aligned axis. Idler rollers rotatably mounted on the frame define a rolling contact surface for the conveyor belt, which is concavely-shaped in a transversely-extending vertical plane. The pivoting of the frame causes the surface to impart a combined transverse pushing effect, torsional steering effect, and torsional tiling effect on the conveyor belt. An actuator applies a force to pivot the frame about the axis. A computer determines an amount of the misalignment based on a signal from a sensor, and automatically controls the actuator to pivot the frame, depending on the determined amount of the misalignment.

  • Patent number: 10441976
Abstract: A feed diffuser for use in a rotating screen having drain holes is provided, comprising a flow chamber having an upstream end and a downstream end and defining a flow path for a slurry having solid material larger than the drain holes flowing between the upstream end and the downstream end; the flow chamber having an intermediate portion disposed between the upstream end and the downstream end; the intermediate portion having a first opening; the flow chamber having an inclined floor, the lowest point of the inclined floor being adjacent to the first opening; whereby the inclined floor is sufficiently inclined such that when the slurry flows down the flow path, the larger solid material is directed towards the first opening.

  • Patent number: 6148926
Abstract: Ground clearing apparatus (10) and a method for transporting the apparatus are provided. The ground clearing apparatus (10) includes a plurality of ground clearing tools (20) attached to a rotating shaft (18). The ground clearing tools include a chain (22) having a plurality of links and a hammer (24) attached to one end of the chain (22). The rotation of the shaft (18) causes the hammer (24) to strike objects in its path and generally mill the ground surface.

  • Patent number: 4896563
Abstract: A hydraulic-mechanical transmission for a heavy vehicle as shown in FIG. 5 includes a hydraulic variable-displacement pump (I) supplying fluid under pressure to two hydraulic, variable-displacement motors (II, III), controlled by valves (64, 65). It further includes a planetary gear (IV) enclosed in a casing (1) which can be driven by one of the motors (II) through a pinion (51) and an external ring gear (10). The second motor (III) can drive the casing (1) which latter is mounted direct on the motor shaft (40). A planet carrier (2) can be coupled to the casing (1) by a clutch (33) or is freely movable in the casing. A sun gear (31) is mounted on an output shaft (3), while the planet gears (20) engage with an internal gear (11) of the casing. Three speeds and torques are available by respectively driving the planetary gear by either motor or by both motors together and by alternately coupling the planet carrier to the casing or having it freely rotating by operation of the clutch.

  • Patent number: 4732227
Abstract: Equipment for drilling a row of equidistant holes comprises a carriage attached to a tractor and two earth augers rotated about their axes by the tractor power-take-off through transmission means. The augers are fastened in opposite alignment to a horizontal axle which is mounted in bearings on the carriage and is rotated by one of the road wheels through a chain drive causing the two augers to rotate about the axle in a plane parallel to the direction of travel. The rotating augers enter the soil alternately and drill equidistant holes during progress of the tractor and the carriage.

  • Patent number: 4720965
Abstract: A device for attachment to an uprooting implement is designed for compacting plant residue into cylindrical or rope-like shape and to cut the compacted cylinder into short wafers. The device comprises four rollers in parallel alignment symmetrically positioned around a central space defining the compacted cylinder, and urged toward the central space by springs. The rollers are positioned with their axes in the direction of travel of the uprooting implement and all are rotated in the same sense of rotation. Each roller has a cylindrical rear portion and a frusto-conical front portion provided with a broadthreaded screw, the screws serving to press the plant residue into the space between the cylindrical roller portions. Conveyor means are provided for feeding the plants into the compacting device, and cutting means are provided to the rear of the rollers.
