Abstract: The subject matter discloses a system for monitoring tagged items in a medical facility, comprising one or more reader units configured to collect and store tracking data related to tagged items in real time, said monitoring data includes radio frequency tag identification data unique for each tagged item; a medical facility server configured to receive the monitoring data from the one or more reader units, determine whether one or more predetermined rules or conditions are met, and trigger an action based on said determination; wherein the monitoring data comprises identification data and utilization data related to tagged items which are intended for use in the medical facility.
