  • Patent number: 10248923
Abstract: The present disclosure describes approaches for generating an information model of a business process. One example is a method comprising receiving an input of an identifier, wherein the identifier corresponds to a node in a network; recursively tracing data packets in the network, wherein the identifier is utilized as a seed for the tracing; and generating an information model of the business process based on the data packets. In further examples, the recursively tracing data packets in the network comprises: identifying, based on the identifier, data packets transferred between the node and one or more nodes; retrieving, from the data packets, one or more identifiers corresponding to the one or more nodes; and identifying, based on the one or more identifiers, additional data packets transferred between the one or more nodes and one or more additional nodes.

  • Patent number: 9868265
Abstract: One or more layers of structured thermoplastic polymer, such as a light weight veil of thermoplastic polymer fibers, are located within the interleaf zone of laminates that are composed of fibrous layers and thermosetting resin. The thermoplastic veils are used in the interleaf zones as a replacement for thermoplastic toughening particles. The structured thermoplastic polymer may be coated with a conductive material to improve electrical conductivity through the laminate.

  • Patent number: 9722928
Abstract: In one embodiment, a link utilization threshold is assigned to a first link. Link utilization of the first link and of one or more second links is monitored. The first link is considered to be out-of-policy (OOP) in the event that the link utilization of the first link surpasses the link utilization threshold. In response to the first link being considered OOP, action is taken. An excess utilization of the first link is determined. One or more prefixes currently routed over the first link whose collective per prefix utilization exceeds the excess utilization are determined. Provided that the collective per prefix utilization of the one or more prefixes currently routed over the first link, if added to the link utilization of the one or more second links, would not cause the one or more second links to be considered OOP, the one or more prefixes are redirected over them.

  • Patent number: 9692679
Abstract: In one embodiment, a network device (e.g., a master controller) may detect an event on a current path in a computer network from a local network domain to a destination address prefix of a remote domain. In response, the device may dynamically (e.g., intelligently) determine a trace target destination address within the destination address prefix, and may perform (or request performance of) a Traceroute of the current path and a selection of alternate paths in the network from the local network domain to the trace target, where the Traceroute is adapted to obtain per-hop measurements along the respective traced path. The measurements may then be stored, for example, to be used for optimal path selection, fault identification reporting, etc.

  • Patent number: 9197533
Abstract: A technique dynamically maintains and enforces relative policies for a prefix in a computer network. According to the novel technique, a node (e.g., an optimized edge router, OER) monitors performance characteristics for a particular prefix policy over a current path, and maintains a long-term average (LTA) value and a short-term average (STA) value of the performance characteristic. In the event the STA is worse than the LTA by a configurable amount, the prefix is considered “out-of-policy” (OOP) for that policy, and a new path may be selected accordingly. Otherwise, the prefix is considered “in-policy,” and the current path is upheld. Notably, a threshold may be manually configured to account for slow performance deterioration or “spikes,” such that if the performance characteristic (or STA) surpasses the threshold, the prefix is considered OOP.

  • Patent number: 8942106
Abstract: In one embodiment, a best exit from an autonomous system (AS) for a controlled prefix is determined. A network device of the AS influences a route for the controlled prefix to be over the best exit. Traffic statistics for the controlled prefix are selected. The network device verifies, based on the traffic statistics, whether the influence has caused at least a configured amount of traffic for the controlled prefix to be over the best exit. When at least the configured amount of the traffic is not directed over the best exit, the network device further influences the route for the controlled prefix to be over the best exit.

  • Patent number: 8706883
Abstract: In one embodiment, a plurality of spoke-to-hub virtual private network (VPN) tunnels are established from a spoke router located at an edge of a spoke network to a hub network. The spoke router is configured as an optimized edge routing (OER) node. The spoke router monitors a network statistic for each of a plurality of prefixes on each of the plurality of spoke-to-hub VPN tunnels. The monitored network statistic is analyzed to determine whether a distribution of traffic between the spoke network and the hub network can be optimized. In the event the distribution of traffic between the spoke network and the hub network can be optimized, traffic is redistributed on a per-prefix basis among the plurality of spoke-to-hub VPN tunnels based on the monitored network statistic, such that at least a portion of the traffic is routed over each of the plurality of spoke-to-hub VPN tunnels.
