  • Publication number: 20260107780
Abstract: A system and method of mitigating impedance mismatches in high-speed electronic systems. The method includes forming a conductive region having a geometry that varies along a longitudinal direction to create a taper. The method includes configuring the taper to produce a spatially varying characteristic impedance along the conductive region. The method includes coupling a first electronic component to a first edge located at one end of the conductive region. The method includes coupling a second electronic component to a second edge located at an opposite end of the conductive region. The method includes transitioning the characteristic impedance from a first impedance at the first edge to a second impedance at the second edge to reduce an impedance mismatch between the first electronic component and the second electronic component.

  • Publication number: 20260066153
Abstract: Multi-Gigabit Ethernet communication over shielded cables have challenging electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) problems. Circuitry on-board Ethernet physical layer (PHY) transceivers cannot adequately address these problems. In some cases, some circuitry may pose constraints on the transceiver design, making these problems more difficult to address. To improve EMC and increase tolerance to EMI, an improved shielded cable can be used to connect Ethernet PHY transceivers. In particular, a microwave-absorbing material is added to wrap one or more segments of the shielded cable. The microwave-absorbing material can be applied at or near the cable connectors attached to the ends of the shielded cable. One or more parameters of the microwave-absorbing material can be chosen or optimized for a particular type of shielded cable and sensitivity of the Ethernet PHY transceiver to EMC and EMI problems.

  • Publication number: 20260006110
Abstract: In a vehicular communication network, an Ethernet network interface receives an Ethernet packet via an Ethernet link and decapsulates an intermediate frame from the Ethernet packet. The intermediate frame includes a first header in an intermediate frame format and a first payload, which includes sensor data, in the intermediate format. The intermediate format is different than any camera serial interface (CSI) protocol of the Mobile Industry Processor Interface (MIPI) Alliance. The Ethernet network interface provides the intermediate frame to a processor. The processor generates a packet in a CSI protocol format defined by the MIPI Alliance. The processor uses header information in the first header of the intermediate frame to populate one or more header fields of a second header of the packet in the CSI protocol format, and uses payload information in the intermediate frame to generate a second payload of the packet in the CSI protocol format.

  • Patent number: 12413656
Abstract: In a vehicular communication network, a processor receives a packet that includes data corresponding to a sensor, the packet being in a first format. The processor reformats the packet in the first format to a second format different than the first format. The reformatting of the packet includes the processor generating an intermediate frame that includes a header in the second format and a payload in the second format, the payload including the data corresponding to the sensor. The processor provides the frame to an Ethernet network interface, which encapsulates the frame in an Ethernet packet. The Ethernet network interface then transmits the Ethernet packet via an Ethernet link.

  • Publication number: 20250112719
Abstract: A coordinator communication device in a communication network determines that a time period is to begin during which only the coordinator communication device will have opportunities to transmit. The time period includes a plurality of time cycles, each time cycle i) beginning with the coordinator communication device transmitting a beacon signal and ii) including a transmit opportunity that follows the beacon signal.
