    Abstract: This disclosure discloses a multi-link communication method and a related apparatus. In a scenario in which simultaneous transmission and reception over a plurality of links is not supported, a multi-link device first sends a first physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU) over a first link, and then sends a second PPDU over a second link through channel contention, where an end time of the second PPDU is not later than an end time of the first PPDU. The method not only ensures fairness of multi-link access, but also can reduce an idle rate of the plurality of links.

The communication method includes: A receive end receives indication information from a transmit end, where a buffer of the receive end stores a log-likelihood ratio (LLR) corresponding to coded bits in an aggregated media access control protocol data unit (A-MPDU) subframe including a target media access control protocol data unit (MPDU). The receive end discards the LLR corresponding to the coded bits in the A-MPDU subframe including the target MPDU according to the indication information. According to the technical solutions provided in this application, the LLR corresponding to the coded bits in the buffer of the receive end can be discarded in time, thereby improving throughput of a system and reducing memory requirements.

Alternatively, the receive end estimates duration required for feeding back a receiving status of the retransmitted data, and feeds back the duration to a transmit end. The transmit end may therefore adaptively adjust duration of the retransmitted data based on a feedback capability of the receive end, to ensure that the feedback of the receive end on the receiving status of the retransmitted data is within a short inter-frame space (SIFS).
