Abstract: A system and method for a handshake authenticated coded locked container are provided. In example embodiments, a digitally encoded lock mechanism that is used by a sender to lock a container before shipping is determined. An access key is received from the recipient that receives the container. An authentication process is performed that determines whether the access key triggers the unlocking of the container. Based on a determination that the access key triggers the unlocking of the container, instructions are provided to unlock the container.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for real-time audio processing employs a gaze detection sensor to detect a direction of a user's gaze and output a gaze signal corresponding to the detected direction of the user's gaze. A digital signal processing unit responds to a plurality of signals corresponding to a plurality of sounds received at the apparatus, and the determined direction of gaze to identify a signal of interest from the plurality of signals using the gaze signal. The signal of interest is processed for output to the user. In embodiments, a microphone array provides the plurality of signals. An imaging sensor may work with either the microphone array or the gaze detection sensor to identify the signal of interest.

Abstract: In various example embodiments, a system and method for dynamically ordering content and discrete content segments are presented. A set of discrete content segments is received having a first order for distributing the set of discrete content segments during a display of a media stream. Each discrete content segment includes a set of ordering factors. Event data is received. The event data is representative of a set of events depicted by the media stream. A set of event instances is determined from the event data representing the set of events depicted by the media stream. A second order is generated for the set of discrete content segments based on the set of event instances and the sets of ordering factors.

Abstract: Methods and systems for replenishing a consumable include order satisfaction responsive to an indication of imminent failure or depletion of a consumable based on detected parameters. A sensor reading may indicate that a consumable is performing below a threshold, or has limited remaining capacity. Responsive to a determination that a replacement is necessary, the method may recommend one or more alternatives. The recommendation may be made based on how closely a candidate replacement's performance or other characteristic (e.g. cost, capacity) matches that of a currently-used consumable. The recommendation may be based on one or more attributes of a candidate replacement compared to a currently-used consumable. An order may be automatically placed according to the currently-used consumable or the recommended alternative(s). The order may be delivered with instructions regarding where and when to replace the consumable.

Abstract: Systems and methods are presented for nested micro-marketplaces in an online marketplace. In some embodiments, a method is presented that may include accessing a product listing for a product in the online marketplace placed by a seller. The method may also include accessing a first price in the product listing placed by the seller, the first price applicable to a first group of users associated with the online marketplace; accessing a second price in the product listing, the second price applicable to a second group of users associated with the online marketplace and being discounted from the first price for the second group due to a closeness affiliation with the seller of the product; and accessing an offer to purchase the product, the offer either originating from the first group and being offered at the first price, or originating from the second group and being offered at the second price.

Abstract: Systems, methods and media for managing digital rights in three-dimensional (3D) printing are provided. In one example, a registration of digital rights in a first 3D object is received from a first user and via a portal. The registration includes a certification device. The registration including the certification device is published in an online environment, and the first 3D object is made available for replication by second users via the portal. A request for access to the digital rights in the first 3D object is received from a second user for 3D printing of the first 3D object. Permission is granted under the digital rights in the first 3D object to the second user for printing the first 3D object. Instructions are electronically transmitted to a 3D printer to print the first 3D object, and the 3D printer prints the first 3D object based on the instructions.

A number of post-purchase analytics about the item can inform as to the desirability of presenting the owner with an opportunity to post a listing for the item in the online opportunity. The analytics derive from a variety of information about the item. The information can be compiled using any technique in which the information can be compiled and analyzed.

Abstract: Systems and methods determine a user's perceived value of a good or service (“product”) and store the perceived value in a perception map. A perceived value may be measured by asking questions regarding a value of a product alone or in relation to another product. The perception map may be used for product placement by dynamically placing a product based on a user's perceived value of a product, generate purchase recommendations, generate exchange recommendations, and generate return value recommendations.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure include a navigation system and computer-implemented methods for proactively re-routing vehicles based on an analysis of input component data obtained from the navigation-enabled devices. The navigation system scores the input component data to obtain a measure of frustration (e.g., a feeling of being upset or annoyed) of the user of the navigation-enabled device. The navigation system may provide a detour suggestion for display on the navigation-enabled device to persuade the user of the device to direct their vehicle to depart from its current location or route in an effort to remove the vehicle from traffic, and thereby reduce the frustration level of the user. The detour suggestion may include an alternative route to the original destination, or an alternative destination.

The intelligent garment tags further include an alert component for providing laundering alerts (e.g., a flashing or colored light, a warning noise, or a vibration) based on, for example, garment color compatibility or laundering device (e.g., washing machine or clothes dryer) compatibility.
