Abstract: A method and system for preparing and managing medical devices and supplies has the steps of providing an identification database, providing an operational database, selecting, b a collection of the medical devices and supplies to be used for a medical procedure in the healthcare facility with associated identification and operational information, wherein the medical devices and supplies in the collection are selected based on a computing logic that matches the medical procedure with product information stored in the identification and operational databases, obtaining recognition features, obtaining and displaying product information, and verifying the medical devices and supplies selected for the medical procedure; and tracking and updating the use and disposal of the medical devices and supplies during and after the medical procedure.
