Publication number: 20240077467Abstract: Apparatus, systems and methods are provided that leverage plugin modules supplemented by machine learning to create a robust and adaptable forensic investigation tool that obtains data from one or more data sources, separates the data into smaller units of data (e.g., deconstructs the data into its smallest logical data items/fields) determines common data types within the smaller units, creates “edges” that match data from the one or more data sources with data already in the system, then determines potentially overlapping clusters of information to identify potential connections between investigations and displays the information on a display in link form or grid form.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 7, 2023Publication date: March 7, 2024Inventors: Jonathan Grier, Justin Phillips, Dane Howard, Ben Marshall

Publication number: 20240078291Abstract: Apparatus, systems and methods are provided that create an improved forensic investigation graph. Nodes of connected data are clustered according to a maximal nearest neighbor algorithm to create maximal nearest neighbor clusters. A first node of data is directly connected to at least a second node of data and indirectly connected to a third node of data through the second node. The nearest neighbor includes only sets of nodes that are directly connected. A cluster of data includes combinations of connected nodes. A cluster of nearest neighbors only includes combinations of nodes that are directly connected to each other. The maximal nearest neighbor clusters are created by determining all clusters or nearest neighbors and removing all nearest neighbor clusters that are subsets of another nearest neighbor cluster. The maximal nearest neighbor clusters re then displayed on a display. The maximal nearest neighbor clusters represent data acquired in the performance of a forensic investigation.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 8, 2023Publication date: March 7, 2024Inventors: Jonathan Grier, Justin Phillips, Dane Howard, Ben Marshall

Publication number: 20240054171Abstract: Systems and methods for multi-directional visual browsing on an electronic device are described. In example embodiments, a primary result and a peripheral result are determined. A display layout based on attributes associated with the primary result and the peripheral result is generated. The display layout is then formatted into instructions, which will cause a device to render the display layout. The instructions are transmitted to the client device.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 26, 2023Publication date: February 15, 2024Applicant: eBay Inc.Inventors: Ryan Melcher, Dane Howard

Patent number: 11823249Abstract: Gesture functionality is provided in a computing environment. In example embodiments, a gesture input is received. A style difference is identified between a known gesture input of a set of known gesture inputs and the received gesture input. The set of known gesture inputs is caused to be modified to include the style difference by updating a database that stores the set of known gesture inputs.Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 2023Date of Patent: November 21, 2023Assignee: eBay Inc.Inventors: Ryan Melcher, Dane Howard

Patent number: 11651409Abstract: In various example embodiments, a system and method to provide status indictors on an image galley is disclosed. At least one item to be displayed in an image gallery on a client device is identified. Once identified, status information for the item is obtained. Subsequently, gallery rendering and display instructions are generated and transmitted to the client device. The rendering and display instructions include the status information and enables generation of status indicators from the status information for display over the image gallery at the client device. The rendering and display instructions may also include instructions for displaying the image gallery. The status information at the client device may be updated as status information changes.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 2022Date of Patent: May 16, 2023Assignee: eBay Inc.Inventors: Ryan Melcher, Dane Howard

Publication number: 20220261867Abstract: In various example embodiments, a system and method to provide services associated with an image is disclosed. The method includes receiving image data of an item of interest from a client device. The image data is used to identify a similar item from an image catalog based on the image data of the item. Attribute information associated with the similar item is retrieved and used to pre-populate a template. The pre-populated template is sent to the client device, and modified data from the client device is received in response, with the modified data resulting in a final template. A listing based on the final template is generated.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 2, 2022Publication date: August 18, 2022Applicant: eBay Inc.Inventors: Ryan Melcher, Dane Howard

Patent number: 11210692Abstract: Systems and methods to deliver dynamic context sensitive offers to intent user behavior are discussed. For example, a method to deliver a dynamic context sensitive oar can include operations for generating a dynamic offer, delivering the dynamic offer, receiving data associated with a user, updating a context input with data associated with the user, and adjusting the value of the dynamic offer. Generating the dynamic offer includes associating a rule for manipulating the value of the dynamic offer based on a context input. Updating the context input of the rule includes extracting context information from the data associated with the user. Adjusting the value of the dynamic offer can be based on reevaluation of the rule with the updated context input.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 2019Date of Patent: December 28, 2021Assignee: eBay Inc.Inventors: Arik Keller, Dane Howard, Michael Lenahan, Ben Mitchell

Patent number: 10991022Abstract: Systems and methods for providing search results based on time obtain an item are discussed. In an example, a method can include receiving a search query, generating search results, calculating a time to obtain for each listing in the search results, and arranging the search results for display. The search query can include a current location of a mobile device. The search results can include a plurality of listings, with each listing including a location. The locations representing either a physical location proximate the current location or a delivery time to the current location. The search results can be arranged for display in various manners according to the calculated time to obtain for each result.Type: GrantFiled: November 16, 2017Date of Patent: April 27, 2021Assignee: eBay Inc.Inventors: Dane Howard, Jack Phillip Abraham, Shannon B.
