Publication number: 20080228216Abstract: This invention is directed to an implant having a coil for embolizing a vascular site, such as aneurysm. The coil has a specific three-dimensional shape that is achieved by winding the coil around a mandrel in a specific pattern and then heat setting the coil and the mandrel, another aspect of the invention. The three-dimensional shape resembles unclosed mobius loops. Also provided are methods of making the coil and methods of embolizing vascular site.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 27, 2008Publication date: September 18, 2008Inventors: Brian Michael Strauss, Todd Jeffrey Hewitt, Ramon Torres Carrillo, Khoa Dang Vu, William Robert Patterson, Larry Wilbur, Justin Klotz, Scott William Brennan, Vince Divino

Publication number: 20050130683Abstract: A communication device (105,200) includes a cordless telephone (205) and a two way radio (210). The communication device (105,200) is adapted to place an active cordless telephone call in a low frequency mode in response to receiving an incoming two way radio communication. The communication device (105,200) is adapted to then establish communication within the two way radio communication. The communication device (105,200) periodically re-establishes the cordless telephone call to maintain communication with a cordless base station (120) until the two way radio communication is completed.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 11, 2003Publication date: June 16, 2005Inventors: Wayne Phang, Branko Avanic, Hiep Dang, Joseph Medvid, Dang Vu, Kevin Walkup

Patent number: 6480709Abstract: A receiver (600) uses a scanning technique (100) to minimize scan time. An initial bandwidth setting is selected that covers multiple channel frequencies (106). A signal detection step (108) is performed looking for channel activity. As channel activity is detected, the bandwidth of a baseband filter (628) is narrowed (140, 146). The radio remains programmed to the same channel while the bandwidth is varied. Once the last signal detection with the narrowest possible bandwidth setting has been determined (144, 150, 152) the radio is programmed to that channel. Thus, more than one channel frequency is capable of being scanned without reprogramming the radio to a new channel for each scan.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 2001Date of Patent: November 12, 2002Assignee: Motorola, Inc.Inventors: Wayne M. Phang, John K. McKinney, Dang Vu
