  • Patent number: 10099406
Abstract: A method for preventing detachment of a three-dimensional object from a printing tray of a printing apparatus is disclosed. The method includes printing a carpet of building material below and around the base of a three-dimensional object to be printed; and printing said three-dimensional object. The portions of the carpet that protrude out of the boundaries of the base of the three-dimensional object are coated with one or more layers of support material to help keep the carpet flexible and adhesive in texture.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 28, 2017
Date of Patent: October 16, 2018
    Assignee: STRATASYS LTD
Inventors: Dani Chechik, Avraham Teken, Eliahu M. Kritchman, Eduardo Napadensky

  • Patent number: 7369915
Abstract: A system and method for building three dimensional objects may adjust data used to build the objects to, for example, improve quality or correct for defects. A printer may, for example, accept data representing the object and modify the data according to an adjustment parameter; the printer may build the object according to the parameter. The parameter may be, for example, calculating an adjustment parameter in an X-Y slice plane to compensate for inaccuracies caused by diffusion of materials into one another.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 2, 2007
Date of Patent: May 6, 2008
    Assignee: Objet Geometries Ltd.
Inventors: Eliahu M. Kritchman, Dani Chechik, Tatyana Rodin-Entin, Hanan Gothait

A printer may, for example, accept data representing the object and modify the data according to an adjustment parameter; the printer may build the object according to the parameter. The parameter may be, for example, fixed in the printer, user entered, and/or calculated by the printer. In one embodiment, a support pedestal may be built of deposited material before the object is built.
