  • Publication number: 20230153979
Abstract: A method and system for implementation of quality control includes a machine vision system for capturing images of instances of a product, and a computer system including computer memory containing machine-readable instructions executable by a processor. The processor evaluates the quality control images for a plurality of potential quality defects in the product and generates a defect alert associated with a captured image in which at least one potential quality defect is identified. Information about each defect alert is stored in a database log file in the computer memory. A neural network machine learning algorithm processes the database log file by, in a learning phase, receiving human-initiated input accepting or rejecting each defect alert and storing the human-initiated input in the log file, and, in an automated phase, automatically accepting or rejecting at least some defect alerts without performing the step of receiving human initiated input.

  • Patent number: 10750693
Abstract: Provided are tomato plants having fruit with red and yellow segments that appear across the fruit from the internal seed area to the most external layer of the epidermis. The present invention discloses that this phenotype, designated Arlecchino, is linked to insertion mutation within the Phytoene synthase 1 (Psy1) gene.

  • Patent number: 9453237
Abstract: The present invention relates to means and methods for modifying the expression of a component in the carotenoid biosynthetic pathway to modify the production of carotenoid towards accumulation of at least one of phytoene, phytofluene, zeta carotene or combinations thereof. The present invention further relates to genetically altered organisms having elevated content of these carotenoids. The present invention further relates to genetically altered organisms having elevated content of these carotenoids, particularly in chromoplast-containing cells.

  • Patent number: 8865970
Abstract: The present invention provides plant inbred mutant parent lines producing hybrid offspring having at least one heterosis-related phenotype, particularly total yield associated phenotypes, methods for identifying same and hybrid plants produced therefrom. The present invention further discloses heterosis-related genes and provides the corresponding isolated polynucleotides.

  • Patent number: 7235719
Abstract: A cultivated tomato plant having a genome including an introgression derived from a green-fruited tomato, the green-fruited tomato being characterized by fruits having a brix value above 5 brix units, the introgression including a portion of chromosome 9 of the green-fruited tomato, the portion extending telomerically to a point so as to exclude from the portion an allele of the green-fruited tomato being responsible for an undesired trait selected from the group consisting of higher percent green fruit yield and longer internodes characterizing the green-fruited tomato as is compared to the cultivated tomato plant, the introgression inherently increasing by at least 6% a brix value characterizing fruits of the cultivated tomato plant as is compared to a nearly isogenic tomato plant lacking the introgression.
