  • Publication number: 20240047822
Abstract: Separators and additives (e.g., electrode additives) for use in energy storage devices are disclosed. In certain embodiments, a separator includes inorganic particles. In certain embodiments, an additive includes inorganic particles. The additive may be used in an electrode, such as a cathode or anode in a battery. The inorganic particles (whether included in a separator or used in (e.g., as) an additive, for example for an electrode) may be functional inorganic particles that promote battery performance and/or safety. For example, the functional inorganic particles may act to reduce or eliminate side reactions or mitigate the effects of side reactions during electrochemical cycling of an energy storage device in which they are included (e.g., discharge and/or charge of a battery). As another example, the functional inorganic particles may additionally or alternatively promote ionic conductivity.

  • Patent number: 11878919
Abstract: A system and method of distilling/desalinating water in a vacuum-applied multi-phase manner purifies water of its dissolved and/or undissolved contaminants. The system includes at least one primary vessel, at least one vacuum apparatus, and at least one secondary vessel. The primary vessel initially retains a quantity of source water. A vacuum pressure is then generated inside the primary vessel with the vacuum apparatus, which evaporates a first water portion off the source water and freezes a second water portion on the source water. The first water portion is then condensed inside the secondary vessel. After the remaining source water is drained out of the primary vessel, the first water portion in its liquid state is transferred into the primary vessel and poured onto the second water portion in its solid state, which melts the first water portion and the second water portion together to be a quantity of purified water.

  • Publication number: 20230383533
Abstract: The present invention is an improvement on a previous version of an interlocking building block system for use in constructing a building wall. The improvements introduced are radii corners and chamfered edges that allow for claddings to be attached to the wall by leaving space for mechanical screws to be secured between two blocks. Furthermore, the radii corners allowed for increased mechanical movement between two interlocking blocks, resulting in greater durability of the blocks. The improvement also include a corner block and an intersecting block which replace the need for using multiple blocks to create intersecting points or corners. Some blocks also contain an additional hollow cavity with channels to allow increased support members to be introduced between blocks, thus increasing the height of the walls that can be built using the block system.

  • Publication number: 20230306547
Abstract: Disclosed are techniques directed to digital credential dependency management. Metadata mappings are maintained between digital credentials, their underlying attributes, and dependent entities which verify and rely upon the digital credentials. When a digital credential is presented for proof to a verification entity, a dependency mapping is generated linking between the verification entity and the attributes that the verification entity requested for presentation. Updates to the digital credentials, or underlying attributes of the digital credentials, can trigger automatic notifications to the verification entities indicated in the dependency mapping. Automatic notifications, as well as their contents, may be defined by user settings to dictate which verification entities receive notifications and what digital credential and underlying attribute information is included in said notifications.

  • Patent number: 11731176
Abstract: An automated refurbishment system for cleaning and testing recycled child-safe containers. The system takes in durable, child-safe container bodies and caps after usage, washes the container parts reduce an amount of contaminants, and then dries the washed parts. The system then assembles the child-safe container bodies to caps, and tests the assembled child-safe containers, to assess the functionality of the child-safe features. The clean and tested refurbished child-safe containers can then be reused to dispense controlled substances (e.g., pharmaceuticals). Specific modules of the system can be interchanged to allow compatibility with different styles and designs of child-safe containers. The refurbishment system facilitates the recycling and reuse of durable, child-safe containers as an alternative to the current practice of using single-use, disposable plastic child-safe containers to dispense prescription pills and other controlled substances.
