  • Publication number: 20170181054
Abstract: A Managed Access System (MAS) at a correctional facility includes a local database for storing data relevant to authorized and unauthorized cellular communications activity, and a graphical user interface (GUI) for accessing the data and adjusting MAS settings. The local database is capable of synchronization with a remote database at a central facility. The central facility may include a processing system having code for monitoring the MAS and, in some configurations, additional MASs located at other correctional facilities. The code and the remote database may be configured to interface with the local databases at these other correctional facilities. A synchronization operation between the remote database and one or more local databases may be performed by a user with appropriate permissions. In this manner, an authorized user at the central facility can access the different MAS systems at different correctional facilities and manage the data or settings.

  • Publication number: 20170105389
Abstract: A method for providing an interactive toy response to a received input enables an electronic toy such as a pet toy to react to interaction with the electronic toy. The electronic toy includes at least one input detection device and at least one interactive output device. A control unit is communicably coupled to the input detection device and to the interactive output device. The surrounding areas of the electronic toy are continuously monitored with the input detection device and an interactive input is received with the input detection device. The interactive input may be a bite, movement, or similar interaction with the electronic toy. The interactive input is sent to the control unit and is processed. An interactive output is executed with the interactive output device. The interactive output may be a sound, a light, a vibration, or movement of the electronic toy.

  • Patent number: 9522449
Abstract: A method for creating a customized apparatus for holding a door closed comprises comparing a physical door hydraulic piston to two or more diagrammatic configurations to determine which of two or more computer aided design templates to use in fabrication. A straight arm of the physical door hydraulic piston is measured to produce a measurement M1. A user measures from the outside edge of the straight arm to an outside edge of an angled arm of the hydraulic piston to produce a measurement M2. A user measures a width of a pivot point of the hydraulic piston to produce a measurement M3. A user measures the collective height of the straight arm and the angled arm to produce a measurement M4. A user selects one of the templates from the two or more templates based on the comparing step. A CAD operator enters measurements M1, M2, M3 and M4 into the selected template to produce fabrication specifications. Based on the fabrication specifications, a customized apparatus is fabricated for holding a door closed.

  • Publication number: 20160265621
Abstract: A method for storage of excess energy which would otherwise be lost, the regulation of angular velocity, and prevention of excessive velocities is disclosed. The device consists of a bowl shaped container, divided into sections by radially oriented vertical walls, which holds a fluid (any appropriate liquid or set of small solid particles), and spins on its vertically oriented axis at various angular velocities. The floor of the device is formed in successive shapes of bowls and shelves, which allows for a kind of “gearing”. The invention allows more and more energy to be input into the device while the angular velocity is regulated within a particular range. A typical embodiment of the invention would include its attachment by a shaft at the axis to a vertical axis wind turbine.
