  • Patent number: 10728510
Abstract: A method, a device, and a computer program product for background image replacement in image data. The method includes receiving, from at least one image sensor of a device, frame data. The device generates a first depth map based on the received frame data. The device generates first foreground image data and first background image data, based on the first frame data and the first depth map. The method further includes determining a least used color in the first foreground image data. The least used color is identified as a first background color. The method also includes generating modified frame data by replacing the first background image data with the first background color and storing the modified frame data to a memory of the device.

  • Patent number: 10250795
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product to obtain a focus point of a current scene. The method includes performing a first focus procedure in a first direction via a main lens of a main camera of an image capturing device having at least two cameras. The method further includes concurrently performing a second autofocus procedure in a second direction that is opposite the first direction via at least one auxiliary lens of at least one auxiliary camera. The method further includes identifying a focus point within autofocus data collected during the first and second focus procedure. The method further includes, in response to determining the focus point was identified by the at least one auxiliary camera: terminating the first focus procedure; and automatically synchronizing a position of the main lens to that of the at least one auxiliary lens.

Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for an image capturing device having at least two cameras to obtain a focus point of a current scene. The method includes in response to performing a focus procedure via at least one camera of the image capturing device, determining whether a focus point has been found. The method further includes, in response to determining the focus point has not been found: (1) adjusting a number of focus scan steps of an auxiliary focus procedure utilized by only the at least one auxiliary camera and (2) performing the auxiliary focus procedure using the adjusted number of focus scan steps. The method further includes determining whether the focus point has been found, and in response to determining the focus point has been found, automatically synchronizing, to a main lens of the main camera, a current position of the lens of the at least one auxiliary camera.

  • Publication number: 20180139369
Abstract: For backlit face detection, an apparatus includes a main camera and an auxiliary camera that capture image data of photographic subject matter. The main camera and auxiliary camera are located on the same surface of the apparatus. The apparatus further includes a processor that increases an exposure level of the auxiliary camera to expose a dark region in response to the photographic subject matter being a backlit scene. Here settings the main camera are unaffected by increasing the exposure level of the auxiliary camera. The processor also searches for a face within the dark region using auxiliary image data captured with the increased exposure level. Additionally, the processor adjusts an exposure setting of the main camera based on face information received from the auxiliary camera in response to a face being present within the dark region.

  • Patent number: 9821518
Abstract: A platform assembly has a rigid support with an array of threaded passages extending therethrough; threaded posts are engaged in the threaded passages and extend above the rigid support by a distance adjusted by rotation of each threaded post in its associated threaded passage. Manually-adjusted dog point screws can provide the threaded posts, and self-locking nuts can provide the threaded passages. A platform of smooth, slightly flexible material extends over the threaded posts and has an array of mounting elements that magnetically attach to the threaded posts to hold the platform tightly against the end of each post. Adjusting the positions of the threaded posts serves to adjust the precise position and flatness of the platform surface relative to the rigid support, and with respect to a print head of a 3D printer in which the rigid support is incorporated.

  • Patent number: 9675045
Abstract: A tag hanger has a strap which can pass around a support structure, such as a D-ring on an animal collar, and a retainer assembly that clamps one or more tags to one end of the strap, restraining their motion to prevent noise caused by the tags jangling together. The other end of the strap attaches to the retainer assembly to secure the tag holder to the support structure. A blocking element can be included on the strap to prevent contact between the tags and the support structure. The retainer assembly can employ a hex-head bolt that serves as a base element and a threaded retainer shaft that passes through a retainer passage in the strap and through hanger passages in the tags; a nut threadably engaging the bolt can then serve as a clamping element to secure the tags to the strap.
