  • Patent number: 5702036
Abstract: This invention is a total release actuator having a structure that provides a time delay between the activation of an aerosol valve in an associated aerosol container and the discharge of product through the actuator. The structure effecting the time delay is an inflatable and movable component which slowly expands and moves upwardly when product is slowly introduced from the container to a closed chamber defined in part by the inflatable and movable component; the closed chamber being initially out of registry with a discharge conduit and orifice but which, after the chamber is slowly filled with product, moves into register with the said discharge conduit and orifice and product is discharged.

  • Patent number: 5597095
Abstract: A pinch operated dispensing actuator for dispensing materials from a container is disclosed with a first arm for engagement by one's thumb and a second arm for supporting one's index finger. The first arm is part of a lever arm which rotates about a hinge under pressure to provide a mechanical advantage easing actuation of the outlet means of the container. The container is actuated by pinching one's thumb and index finger together. The discharge duct of the dispensing actuator can be part of the first or second arm, which enables dispensing of material in the same direction as the person actuating the container, preferably into the same hand that actuates the container. The discharge duct can also be located at other portions of the dispensing actuator, for all types of dispensing, including dispensing of product into one's free hand, onto objects such as a toothbrush, onto surfaces or into the air.

  • Patent number: 5337925
Abstract: This injection device comprises a housing having a handgrip for operating it. A collapsible fluid container is adapted to fit in the housing under the pressure element of the handgrip. The container has a fill opening with a closure and an injection stem extending out of the housing so that when the handgrip is squeezed, the collapsible fluid container will compress the fluid within it and drive the fluid out through the stem. Conversely, when the fluid container is compressed, the stem can be submerged in fluid and the handgrip spread to enlarge the container and suck fluid into the container.

  • Patent number: 5323973
Abstract: A blender has a container shaped in an oblong cross-section with the opposite ends of semi-circular shape and parallel straight walls inbetween these ends. The rotary cutter is positioned at the center at one of the semi-circular ends giving the container an off-center heavier side. The power base on which the container sits provides a telescoping tower to house an electrical interlock safety switch at its upper end which is engaged by an element on the container cover so that only when the cover is fully on the container can the blender be activated.

  • Patent number: 5191442
Abstract: An apparatus for scanning documents combines digitizing circuitry with a scanning platen to achieve precise selection of image areas on large documents. A vacuum system holds the document in place against a perforated scanning surface during registration and scanning. The assembly of scanning surface, vacuum chamber, and digitizing circuitry move as a unit beneath a fixed scanning apparatus. The apparatus further has a mechanical structure which allows the table assembly to rotate about a pivot axis toward an operator to reduce parallax error in mapping image areas.
