Abstract: A mobile wireless communications device includes a processor cooperating with a wireless transceiver for downloading textual content including a plurality of words and storing the textual content in a memory. The processor also cooperates with the memory for generating successive fragments of the textual content, each fragment including at least one word. The processor may display on the display a notification that a rapid serial visual presentation (RSVP) display mode has been selected. Moreover, the processor may use RSVP for displaying on the display the successive fragments of the textual content based upon confirmation of the selection of the RSVP display mode via said at least one input device.

  • Publication number: 20110115819
Abstract: A mobile wireless communications device includes a wireless transceiver, a display having an available display area and a memory. A processor cooperates with the wireless transceiver for downloading textual content having a plurality of words and storing the textual content in the memory. The processor also cooperating with the memory for generating successive fragments of the textual content, each fragment having at least one word. The successive fragments are searched to locate a longest fragment. A selected font in which the longest fragment can be displayed on the display area of the display is determined. Rapid serial visual presentation (RSVP) is used for displaying on the display area of the display the successive fragments of the textual content in the selected font.

  • Publication number: 20090154675
Abstract: The prepay telecommunications system (60) includes a prepay call management platform (50) which is directly coupled to a telecommunications carrier switch (24). A customer database (116) is coupled to the prepay call management platform (50) for storing prepay customer data, and a plurality of customer interface facilities (62, 64, 66, 68, 80) are provided for accepting customer prepayment and immediately updating the customer database (116). An unregistered roaming call is recognized by the mobile identification number and is routed to the prepay call management platform (50) coupled to and co-located with the telecommunications carrier switch (24) for processing. The caller is prompted for a payment option which may include payment by credit card or a collect call. The caller is then prompted for a credit card number if the credit card option is selected. The credit card number may be validated and verified by a credit card verification processor (128) coupled to prepay call management platform (50).

  • Patent number: 7260409
Abstract: A telecommunications network including a Roaming Solution network, the network including a Roaming Server, a National Location Register, and an 800 number Remote Switching Unit. The network may be integrated with a standard SS7 type telecommunications network and further coupled to an account based billing and call control platform that allows registered wireless credit limited subscribers to place and receive calls when roaming outside of their Home Provider's network. The network may verify that the wireless subscriber's account balance is sufficient to place or receive the call, translates the account balance into talk minutes, and monitors the call for talk duration. The Roaming Solution network is further operable to disconnect the call in the first negative minute and immediately decrements the wireless subscriber's account.

  • Publication number: 20070022709
Abstract: Systems for attaching a plurality of wood products are provided. In a first type of system, a first wood product has a first chemical compound applied to a surface of the first wood product. A second wood product has a second chemical compound applied to a surface of the second wood product. An adduct is formed when the first chemical compound contacts the second chemical compound wherein the first wood product becomes adhered to the second wood product. In a second type of system, a pressure sensitive and/or anaerobic adhesive is placed on at least one of the wood products prior to assembly. The compounds/adhesives have an open assembly time greater than or approximately equal to 24 hours.

  • Patent number: 6885857
Abstract: A method for real-time bundled call processing and billing telecommunications services includes the steps of recognizing a real-time bundled account access call at a telecommunications carrier switch, and routing the real-time bundled account access call to a real-time bundled call processing and billing call management platform coupled to the telecommunications carrier switch. An account number and an optional personal identification number associated with the account are collected and verified. A destination number is then collected. A customer credit profile associated with the real-time bundled account is obtained from a database, and a method of computing charges associated with terminating the call to the collected destination number is determined. Next, whether the customer credit profile permits the call is determined. The call is released to the telecommunications carrier switch for line termination if it is permissible, and the call is monitored for call completion.

  • Publication number: 20050051921
Abstract: A process for making engineered lignocellulosic-based panels with superior strength and dimensional stability. The process comprising adding to green lignocellulosic particles a low-nitrogen content, high molecular weight, phenol-formaldehyde resin before the green particles are dried. The resin is added in an amount from about 1 to 25 weight percent based on the dry weight of the green lignocellulosic particles. The resin has a nitrogen content of from about 0 to 3%, a viscosity of from about 20 to 2000 cps at 20° C., and a molar ratio of formaldehyde/phenol of from about 1.2 to 3.0. The green lignocellulosic particles treated with the resin are dried until the particles have a moisture content of from 1 to 8%. A second resin is added to the dried particles and then the dried particles are consolidated under heat and pressure to form the engineered panel.
