  • Patent number: 9316370
Abstract: A light unit used in train tunnels is readily mountable and removable from a mounting bracket. The mounting bracket allows the battery backup system and light engine to be gravity mounted in manner that allows for quick and easy mounting and removal while also resisting vibrations and wind. A quick disconnect fitting can be used with the power cord to allow the units to be removed and replaced as needed. The light unit integrates the light engine with a battery backup system so that the entire light and battery unit is removed and replaced when necessary.

  • Publication number: 20160035192
Abstract: A temporary task lighting system used on job sites has an alarm mode. The system may be used to provide an alarm indication using the light units of the system. The alarm indication may be cycling the lights through on and off conditions or full on and dimmed conditions. Different systems and methods may be used to activate the alarm. The alarm activation may come from a typical fire alarm switch, a button on the power supply, a button on a central control computer, or a signal from an emergency response system such as a 911 system. The disclosure also provides central control for remote drivers and ballasts. The central control allows different zones of low voltage lighting systems or different zones of low voltage lights to set up, identified, and individually controlled from a central interface.

  • Publication number: 20150330587
Abstract: LED lighting systems, mounting configurations, and light fixtures are disclosed for original and retrofit configurations. Some configurations mount the light fixture with a mounting bracket that allows for the removal and replacement of the light fixture in about the same time as a traditional light bulb change. Some configurations provide for fuse removal and replacement without the need to dismount the light fixture from its mounting bracket or without the need to open the housing of the light fixture to access the fuses. Some configurations use a battery backup system and self-check methods with LED light fixtures configured for public transportation applications.

  • Publication number: 20150247630
Abstract: The disclosure provides an LED light system that is easy to install and customizable by the user. The LED lighting system may be plugged directly into an existing power source. In one configuration, the system includes a power supply that accepts standard power inputs. A low voltage bus line extends from the power supply. The user may connect LED light modules at essentially any location along a low voltage bus line of the system so that the light modules are located exactly where the user desires light. Uneven spacing is possible. Different size lights, different lumen powers, and different-colored light modules may be disposed along the low voltage bus line. Security features may be used to reduce the value of the system components to a thief.

  • Publication number: 20140139146
Abstract: A lighting system for new construction and a method for installing a lighting system in a component construction system such as a concrete slab construction system are disclosed. Lighting units are built into the construction components to provide electrical power that may be low voltage electrical power used by LED light engines. The power can be used by temporary task lighting or the lighting units to be used in the finished building. The disclosure provides the lighting units, the lighting units combined with the construction elements, methods of making the combined unit and construction elements, and methods for using the lighting units.

  • Publication number: 20120247988
Abstract: A merchandise storage container includes a merchandise holder that holds the merchandise with respect to a container body. The merchandise holder is fabricated from one material that is generally robust while the remaining portions of the container are fabricated from a material that is weaker and may be a recycled material. On configuration of the invention holds media discs with a holder having a disc hub at one end and an edge release tab at its other end. The disc holder is secured to a recyclable container body that defines at least a portion of the disc nest.

  • Publication number: 20120127702
Abstract: A modular lighting assembly uses LED banks as the light sources. The assembly allows the power supply and LED banks to be independently replaced. The assembly uses a power supply that is separated from the LED banks and electrically connected to the LED banks with a plug connector that may be unplugged and plugged back in to allow the power supply or LED bank to be independently and readily replaced. The assembly provides for easy replacement of the different components of the assembly. One feature that makes the components easier to replace is that the light modules and/or the power supply may be carried by the housing that is removable from the base mount that is secured to a mounting structure such as a wall or ceiling.
