Patent number: 10366369Abstract: An electronic user device 2 is disclosed in which a user interface 20 for an email application is displayed. The user interface 20 includes an email thread 22 and a selectable calendar look-up banner 32. Upon selection of the calendar look-up banner 32 the user device 2 is configured to retrieve electronic calendars respectively associated with the email users identified in the email thread 22. A score is then calculated for a plurality of time slots in the retrieved electronic calendars, and the time slots are displayed according to their score. A user can then make a selection of one of the time slots. A calendar event is then populated with information derived from the email thread 22 and is sent to each of the email addresses in the thread, to be added to their electronic calendars.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 2016Date of Patent: July 30, 2019Assignee: BlackBerry LimitedInventors: Cody Stephen Bryant, Grant Ross Elliott, Andrew Joseph Klamut, Kieran Patrick Cunney, Jared Daniel Lepic, Bartholomew Alexander Boeckner

Patent number: 4564752Abstract: A method and system for processing documents such as checks for achieving concurrent, reject, re-entry of sorter rejects of the documents in association with a sorting machine. A document reader such as a MICR reader for example, and an imaging apparatus are included along the document track to generate MICR data and digitized image data for each document passing thereby. A document whose MICR data is read correctly is routinely sorted while a document whose MICR data is not read correctly or completely is sorted in a reject pocket. The data needed to complete or correct the MICR data is obtained by an operator viewing an image of the document on a data entry terminal while the associated document is still physically located in the reject pocket. After a first pass or run of the documents through the sorter, the now-complete data obtained by the operator is used to sort the rejected documents on a second pass through the sorter to provide the re-entry of the sorter rejects.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 1982Date of Patent: January 14, 1986Assignee: NCR Canada LtdInventors: Daniel A. Lepic, Robert B. Nally

Patent number: 4555617Abstract: A method and system for processing a batch of documents such as checks for achieving concurrent, reject re-entry and repair of rejects of the batch of documents in association with a sorting machine. A document reader such as a MICR reader for example, and an imaging apparatus are included along the document track to generate MICR data and digitized image data for each document passing thereby. A document whose MICR data is read correctly is routinely sorted while a document whose MICR data for a field is missing, for example, is sorted in a reject pocket. The data needed to complete the missing field is obtained by an operator viewing an image of the document on a data entry terminal while the associated document which was sorted in the reject pocket is stored at an encoder coupled to the reject pocket. The now-complete data obtained by the operator is used by the encoder to print the now-complete data for the missing field on the associated document.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 1982Date of Patent: November 26, 1985Assignee: NCR Canada Ltd.-NCR Canada LteeInventors: Ralf M. Brooks, Daniel A. Lepic
