Publication number: 20240139289Abstract: The invention provides a long-acting parathyroid hormone peptide (PTH) that is retained in a subject's blood serum for periods of time that greatly exceed the natural hormone. The long-acting PTH is conjugated to at the carbon 3 position of a non-hormonal vitamin D via a scaffold of discreet length that facilitates its purification, detection, solubility, and efficacy at the PTH receptor (PTHR). The PTH may be conjugated to the non-hormonal vitamin D via a 36 mer poly(ethylene glycol) moiety (PTH-PEG36-VitD). The invention also provides optimized manufacturing methods and formulations. The PTH-PEG36-VitD has a vastly-improved serum half-life and bioavailability when compared to a non-conjugated PTH peptide. PTH-PEG36-VitD also significantly increases serum calcium, reduces urinary calcium, and reduces serum phosphate.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 14, 2023Publication date: May 2, 2024Applicant: Extend Biosciences, Inc.Inventors: Tarik Soliman, Daniel B. Hall, Rachel Covitz, Garry Musso, Caroline Hill, Ahmet Vakkasoglu, Poul Strange, Tilmann M. Brotz

Publication number: 20230095042Abstract: A cap and seal system for a liquid medicament container. The system comprises a cap formed from a substantially rigid material and has a retention component integrally formed therewith. A seal is formed from a material which is less hard than the cap and positioned within the cap such that, when the retaining component retains the cap on a container in use the seal is positioned such that it forms a fluid tight seal between the cap and the container. A recess is formed in the seal through which a liquid outlet channel can pass in use to access the contents of the container via the cap and the seal.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 8, 2022Publication date: March 30, 2023Inventors: Will RICHARDSON, Santiago RUIZ-VALDEPENAS, Daniel STRANGE, Francisco HUHN

Patent number: 11544520Abstract: A counting mechanism (100) for a dispenser comprising: a first and a second housing part (110, 120) that are rotatable relative to each other; and a counting ring (130) disposed between the housing parts. The first housing part has a protrusion (111) which abuts the counting ring, holding a portion of the counting ring in contact with the second housing part. The relative rotation of the housing parts causes the protrusion to slide against the surface of the counting ring to drive a rolling movement of the counting ring around the circumference of the second housing part, such that a predefined rotation of the housing parts produces an incremental rotational displacement between the counting ring and second housing part to record a count. The counting mechanism provides a large gear reduction ratio in a compact form which is straightforward to manufacture and provides an accurate and reliable record of counts.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 2021Date of Patent: January 3, 2023Assignee: TTP PlcInventors: Daniel Strange, Lawrence Baker

Patent number: 7646200Abstract: A coolant sub-assembly is provided for use in a DNP apparatus. The sub-assembly comprises a plurality of concentric jackets surrounding an inner bore tube having first and second opposed ends. The jackets are adapted to inhibit heat flow to the inner bore tube, a DNP working region being defined within the inner bore tube where a DNP process will be performed on a sample in the DNP working region. A coolant supply path extends adjacent an outer surface of the inner bore tube at the DNP working region in order to cool said outer surface, whereby a sample holder assembly can be inserted through the first end of the inner bore tube to bring a sample holder into the DNP working region and can be moved through the second end of the inner bore tube. An auxiliary coolant supply path supplies coolant to a sample, located in use in the sample holder at the DNP working region, through at least one aperture in the inner bore tube wall at the DNP working region.Type: GrantFiled: August 19, 2008Date of Patent: January 12, 2010Assignees: Oxford Instruments Molecular Biotools Limited, University of NottinghamInventors: Robert Andrew Slade, Martin Charles Townsend, Daniel Strange, Gary Stables, Walter Friedrich Kockenberger
