  • Patent number: 9855719
Abstract: The invention relates to a shim for insertion between the facing surfaces of two parts, in which the separation between the parts is variable with position along the facing surfaces. The shim includes sections that are juxtaposed in a direction transverse to the separation, at least some of the sections are strippable shim sections that include a stack of sheets which are adhered to one another by an adhesive. Slits between individual strippable shim sections allow selective removal of sheets from respective sections, altering shim thickness with position along the facing surfaces.

  • Patent number: 9381725
Abstract: A method for producing an adjustment shim includes preparing a liquid solution of a non-polymerized resin and a solvent; coating sheets of metal with the liquid solution so as to form a film of resin on at least one face of each of the sheets of metal; stacking the metal sheets so that two adjacent sheets of metal are separated by the film of resin; and curing the resin films in the stack of metal sheets, for a predefined time period, at a temperature higher than a degradation or burning temperature of the resin.

  • Publication number: 20080081141
Abstract: A laminated product having a thickness that can be adjusted by chipping, and including alternating sheets and layers of an adhesive material in a stack, each sheet possessing an intrinsic resistance to tearing and each layer of adhesive material connecting adjacent sheets in the stack with a linking force which is weaker than the resistance of the sheets to tearing, enabling each sheet to be detached from the stack without tearing. The product includes a housing which is disposed inside the thickness of the stack, and an electronic identification element which is disposed in the housing.
