  • Patent number: 10032579
Abstract: A rocker panel button arrangement having a bezel with an opening. A rocker button is rotatably mounted to the bezel and is located within the aperture. The rocker button is pivotable about an axis between a first position, a second position and a neutral position. The rocker button also includes a viewing surface and a back side. A capacitive film is connected to the back side of the rocker. A chassis is connected and supports the capacitive film and is also connected to and movable with the rocker button. A circuit board is connected to the bezel adjacent the chassis. The circuit board is connected to the bezel in such a manner that the chassis, capacitive film and rocker button may rotate freely near the circuit board. Between the chassis and the circuit board is a rocker actuator that may take several forms.

  • Patent number: 9916948
Abstract: A button assembly configured to be illuminated is provided. The button assembly includes a movable button having a viewing surface and a back side. The button has portions defining a window in the viewing surface. A flexible light conductor is disposed on the back side of the button. The flexible light conductor has an inlet end configured to receive light, and the flexible light conductor has a light-emitting portion disposed adjacent to the window. The flexible light conductor is configured to conduct light from the inlet end to the light-emitting portion. The light-emitting portion is configured to emit light so that the light is visible through the window.

  • Publication number: 20170148216
Abstract: A see-through display system includes an image generator configured to emit a generated image for viewing by a vehicle occupant. A combiner is configured to reflect the generated image in a field of view of the occupant to create a virtual image. The combiner has variable light transmission and/or reflection capability. A light sensor assembly is electrically coupled to the combiner, which includes a light sensor configured to measure brightness, preferably as viewed behind the virtual image. A controller is configured to interpret the brightness measured by the light sensor and adjust the amount of light transmitted through the combiner based on the brightness.

  • Publication number: 20160077588
Abstract: A reconfigurable switch array assembly incorporating a touch screen system and haptics feedback that sends a signal for executing desired functions selected by a user and that alerts an operator by providing mechanical feedback. Graphics viewable on the touch screen and desired functions are reconfigurable utilizing module software compatible for selectively providing several different graphical and/or functional configurations contained in a single package. The reconfigurable switch array assembly has a rocker button that moves to a downward and upward position. When a user touches the desired function's graphic a capacitive field is created by a capacitive film to identify the desired function. The rocker button rotates from a static position to a downward or upward position caused by the force of the user's touch, which actuates a tactile switch to perform the selected function.
