  • Publication number: 20070248902
Abstract: Included is an emulsion aggregation toner formulation having at least one latex and a combination of at least two waxes, wherein one wax is a synthetic wax, and another wax is a natural wax, and further including a developer containing a carrier and the just-described toner.
    Type: Application

  • Publication number: 20070048643
Abstract: A toner for developing electrostatic images in a single component development (SCD) system free of carrier and including emulsion aggregation toner particles of a styrene acrylate polymer binder, at least one release agent and at least one colorant, wherein the toner particles have a volume average particle size of from about 5 ?m to about 10 ?um, an average circularity of about 0.945 to about 0.99, a volume and number geometric standard deviation (GSD,v and n) of from about 1.10 to about 1.30, and an onset glass transition temperature of from about 45° C. to about C., is ideally suited for forming an image using a single component image forming device.

  • Publication number: 20060160007
Abstract: A method of forming toner particles having surface particles attached thereto includes the steps of aggregating a material of at least one binder material and at least one colorant to produce toner particles, following aggregation, forming a mixture of the surface particles and the toner particles, and subjecting the mixture to a temperature above the glass transition temperature of the toner particles to coalesce the toner particles, whereby the surface particles become at least partially embedded within the surface of the toner particles. Toner particles prepared by such method include a core comprised of at least one binder and at least one colorant, and surface particles at an external surface of the toner particles, wherein at least about 50% of the surface particles are substantially completely covered by a portion of binder and a majority of the surface particles protrude from the toner particle surface a distance of at least 50% of the average particle size of the surface particles.
