  • Publication number: 20250003421
Abstract: An air handling unit is disclosed, including a housing duct through which air is moved from an inlet to an outlet; a heat exchanger configured to facilitate a transfer of heat to and from the air moving through the housing duct; and a fan disposed inside the housing duct, configured for moving air within the housing duct. The fan includes a diagonal flow impeller having an axis of rotation arranged in-line with a direction of flow of air through the duct, wherein an air flow path through the impeller has a mean angle that is oriented along a direction divergent from the axis of rotation of the impeller. The fan further includes a set of axial outlet guide vanes disposed downstream of the impeller, configured to redirect a flow of air exiting the impeller to be substantially parallel to the axis of rotation of the impeller.

  • Publication number: 20230290238
Abstract: A smoke alarm includes a housing having a generally hollow interior, a printed circuit board arranged within the interior of the housing, and an optical chamber assembly connected to the printed circuit board. The optical chamber assembly has an interior chamber and at least one smoke entry location. A substantial entirety of the interior chamber is external to the housing. At least one light device for evaluating particles is arranged within an interior chamber of the optical chamber assembly.

  • Patent number: 11500156
Abstract: An apparatus for assembling a photonic system comprising a photonic integrated circuit (PIC) includes: a support structure configured to support the PIC; and a rigid structure surrounding a hollow passage that extends to an opening at a distal end of the rigid structure. The rigid structure includes an optically transmissive portion configured to transmit at least about 50% of a received beam of ultraviolet light, and configured such that at least a portion of the ultraviolet light transmitted through the rigid structure is incident upon an edge surface of the PIC at an angle of incidence that is less than about 60 degrees.

  • Patent number: 11187083
Abstract: A fan for a climate control outdoor unit includes a plurality of airfoils located around a central hub. Each of the airfoils includes a leading edge and a trailing edge opposite the leading edge. A pressure side surface extends between the leading edge and the trailing edge. A suction side surface is opposite the pressure side surface and extends between the leading edge and the trailing edge. The leading edge includes a greatest negative deviation from a radial line of greater than 10% of a span of the airfoil. The greatest negative deviation is located at between 45% and 85% of the span of the airfoil.

  • Patent number: 7260131
Abstract: A symmetrization device and laser diode system using such a device is shown. The device has adjacent lens components transforming beamlets from a laser diode array. Each lens component has input and output surfaces, each having a profile in the propagation direction of the beamlets and a contour perpendicularly thereto. The profiles of the input and output surfaces and distances therebetween are selected to permute the divergence along the slow and fast axes of the beamlets. The contour of each surface matches the cross-sectional shape of the beamlets thereat.
