  • Patent number: 8654397
Abstract: A method for applying pagination includes receiving a request to print a report spanning multiple files, gathering, in response to the request, multiple attributes for the report, and selecting, according to the attributes, multiple pagination rules. Each pagination rule includes a pagination requirement. The method further includes after receiving the request, processing each file by obtaining a document from the file, selecting a pagination rule, corresponding to the document, generating a modified version of the document by applying the pagination requirement in the pagination rule to the document, and appending the modified version of the document to the report. The method further includes dispatching the report to a printer.

  • Patent number: 6340958
Abstract: An information display system comprises a controller, a ceiling node, a rail, an end cap and a solar powered display module. The display module stores and displays information. The controller communicates with the end cap through an IR downlink and an RF uplink, and the end cap communicates with the display module by wired communication. By uniquely combining RF and IR communication systems in the information display system, communication between the controller and the module is fast and accurate and the display module's power consumption is significantly reduced to make a solar powered information display system practical. By a unique power bus, excess power is shared.

  • Patent number: 5635728
Abstract: A system is provided for reading an image stored on a storage layer radiation screen. The system includes a carousel for holding a storage layer radiation screen and a screen scanning system. The screen scanning system includes a carousel mount on which the carousel may be mounted and a rotation mechanism for rotating the carousel mount, rotation of the carousel mount serving to rotate the carousel about a rotational axis which, in turn, causes the screens held on the carousel to move in a circular path about the rotational axis. The carousel is preferably removable from the carousel mount. The screen scanning system also includes an image acquisition optical system positioned adjacent the circular path of the screen, the image acquisition optical system including an excitation system for focusing an excitation beam on a portion of the screen to cause a light emission, and an emission collecting system for collecting the light emitted from the screen.
