  • Patent number: 10540301
Abstract: One embodiment provides an apparatus comprising a first processor to execute a function driver for a peripheral having a first bus interface and virtualized host controller interface logic to provide a protocol interface associated with the first bus interface to the function driver to enable the function driver to control a set of peripherals connected via at least a second bus interface, the second bus interface different from the first bus interface.

  • Patent number: 9477255
Abstract: A method for suspending an idle device includes receiving, by a processor, an indication that a device having a communication channel is connected to a host device. The method then includes determining a first timeout value associated with the communication channel and a second timeout value associated with the first device. The first timeout value corresponds to an amount of time allotted for an operation to complete in the communication channel, and the second timeout value corresponds to an amount of time allotted for the device to be designated as idle before the device is suspended. The device is determined to be idle when the operation is pending in the communication channel for an amount of time that is greater than the first timeout value. The device is suspended when the device has been idle for an amount of time that is greater than the second timeout value.

  • Patent number: 7334117
Abstract: System and method for loading and/or updating firmware in a device, e.g., an embedded device, operable to be coupled to a host computer system. A first portion of firmware of the device, e.g., a boot loader, may be executable to operate the device, including processing requests from the host computer system and/or enabling the device to execute a second portion of the firmware, e.g., an operating system for the device. The device may be coupled to other devices or instruments. The second portion of the firmware may allow the host computer system to operate and/or control the other devices or instruments through the device. The host computer system may transmit a different version of the second portion of the firmware to the device, e.g., enabling the device to couple to and operate with a specific instrument. The host computer system may not update the first portion of the firmware.

  • Patent number: 6814183
Abstract: An inflatable evacuation slide system (10) is selectively deployable in either a foreshortened or lengthened configuration. The foot end (50) of the escape slide (12) includes a compartment (92) containing an extensible slide portion (70) stored in an undeployed condition. The compartment is sealed by means of conventional speed lacing (92) held together by a single master loop (96). A pyrotechnic cable cutter (98) is attached to the master loop (96) to severe it at the appropriate time thereby releasing the extensible portion of the slide. A control circuit (100) determines whether to deploy the extensible portion based on input from a non-contacting electronic sensor (110) such as an inclinometer.

  • Patent number: 6002398
Abstract: A method for displaying a tabbed dialog box, a property sheet, which can be either modal or modeless. The property sheet has at least one child window. The child window has a tab field identifying a category of information. The parent window or property sheet has a multiple associated, displayable child windows. Upon selection of the tab field, a menu window is displayed with at least one menu item field. The menu item may be selectable by the user to initiate the display of another child window or subcategory menu window. The user can select the field to display a third child window, a property page which can display properties of an object.
