  • Publication number: 20230191133
Abstract: Systems and methods for treating a patient having a blood glucose abnormality, such as type 2 diabetes (T2D), using an electrical signal are disclosed. A representative method for treating a patient includes, based at least in part on a patient indication of a blood glucose abnormality, positioning at least one implantable signal delivery device proximate to a target location at the patient's spinal cord within a vertebral range of from about C8 to about T12. The method further includes directing an electrical signal to the target location via the implantable signal delivery device, wherein the electrical signal has a frequency in a frequency range of from 1.2 kHz to 100 kHz.

  • Publication number: 20220054864
Abstract: Noninvasive neuromodulation combines transcutaneous electrical modulation with heat and/or focused ultrasonic energy. A noninvasive neuromodulation device includes a first bipole electrode pair aligned along a first axis and a second bipole electrode pair aligned along a second axis, the first axis and the second axis defining a plane. A focused ultrasound (FUS) transducer can direct a focused ultrasound beam along a third axis that intersects the plane. A controller is electrically coupled to the first and second bipole electrode pairs and to the focused ultrasound transducer. The controller is configured to apply electrical energy having a frequency of between about 1 Hz to about 100 MHz to the first and second bipole electrode pairs, and to cause the FUS transducer to emit a focused ultrasound beam having a frequency of between about 20 kHz to about 10 MHz.
