  • Patent number: 11948200
Abstract: Systems and methods for estimating current roof conditions and potential underwriting risk using insurance claim data. Historical claims for confirmed weather-damaged homes may be clustered by claims stemming from one or more weather events to determine potential areas where damage has occurred, but a claim has not yet been filed. In certain implementation, claims for weather-related vehicle damage may be utilized to predict weather-related roof damage.

  • Patent number: 11828349
Abstract: A banded frictional power transmission belt with a satin-weave, band fabric wrapped around the outside of the belt. The band fabric may be a satin weave of warp and weft yarns and may include a high-strength, wear-resistant yarn such as aramid fibers, and may include a high-adhesive yarn such as nylon and/or cotton. The aramid and/or nylon fibers may be staple or filament fibers. The band fabric may be treated. The band fabric may have a 4×1 satin weave. The band fabric may be wrapped on a bias. The high-adhesive yarn may predominantly reside on the inside of the fabric contacting said V-belt, and the high-strength, wear-resistant yarn may predominantly reside on the outside of the fabric which is the outer, pulley-contacting surface of the belt. The banded belt may be a V-belt, round belt, dual-V-belt, or multiple V-belts, or have another friction belt profile.

  • Patent number: 10968566
Abstract: A hybrid cable having a core and a wrap; the core made from a carbon fiber yarn or bundle of carbon fiber strands or yarns; and the wrap made of a plurality of metal wires helically wrapped around the core, the plurality of metal wires laid side by side without crossing each other. The fibers, yarns, or core may be treated with polymeric sizing, adhesive, or binder. The wire may be steel and may have a coating such as brass or zinc plating, or a polymeric coating or treatment. The hybrid cable is useful for reinforcing composite articles such as belts, track, or hose.

  • Publication number: 20050241960
Abstract: A device for storing and displaying jewelry having a frame fabricated from a single sheet of resilient material. The frame contains parallel, spaced apart front and rear panels that are co-joined along their upper edges by a top wall. The front panel extends below the rear panel and a base is integrally connected to the lower edge of the front panel and extends rearwardly beneath the rear panel. The front panel includes a window through which access can be gained to a foam pad that is captured between the front and rear panels. Studded hooks are inserted into the pad upon which various items of jewelry can be hung. Pins and studded pieces of jewelry can also be inserted directly into the pad for display and storage purposes.

  • Patent number: 5872956
Abstract: An alterable device driver development system for supporting various operating systems, network protocols, and adapter hardware interfaces. Each device driver comprises a System, Network and Adapter software component, each component providing services to the other through its associated programming interfaces and being alterable or replaceable according to the requirements of an associated adapter hardware product. The System component supports a set of services defined by the device driver and which can be used by the Network and Adapter components. The Network component manages all interactions of the Adapter component with a network operating system or protocol stack and ensures its applicability and correctness in the context of the device driver operation. The Adapter component provides the functions for operating and managing all interactions with the adapter hardware.

  • Patent number: 5523175
Abstract: A fuel cell component that includes a porous fuel cell plate and a solid frame contiguously extending all around the fuel cell plate is made by first forming an integral plate-shaped porous body including a central portion constituting the fuel cell plate and a peripheral portion integral with and circumferentially completely surrounding the central portion, and then impregnating the pores of only the peripheral portion with a quantity of initially flowable but solidifiable impregnating material such that the impregnating material is accommodated in and completely fills such pores and makes the peripheral portion solid and completely fluid-impermeable upon solidification of the impregnating material to constitute the frame.

  • Patent number: 5226867
Abstract: A user-manipulated modular exercise machine has individually operable and simultaneously adjustable right and left-hand reel assemblies. Each reel assembly includes a reel, a pull-cord wound on the reel, and a spirally wound spring which applies to the reel a reactive torque of changing magnitude as the reel rotates in response to pulling input force applied to the pull-cord. Each reel assembly has a compensating mechanism for nullifying changes in the magnitude of the reactive torque as the reel rotates and which includes a prewound spiral spring and a belt and cam mechanism for connecting the prewound spring to the reel.

  • Patent number: 4696570
Abstract: A flash tube (1) illuminates the inlet slit diaphragm of a monchromator illuminator (3) the outlet slit diaphragm of which is applied to an optical conductor (5) forming a statistically balanced derivation towards a measuring cell (6M) and a reference cell (6R). Quantic photodetectors (7M and 7R) measure respectively the light conveyed by the two cells. The electric signals obtained are amplified and digitalized, and a microcomputer (9) calculates the relation between the measuring signal (M) and the reference signal (R), other things being equal.
