  • Publication number: 20240098115
Abstract: Mechanisms are provided for dispatching requests to service instances based on data storage boundaries. A request specifying an identity is received and dispatched to a service instance of a data storage boundary, where each data storage boundary is defined by a regulation or policy restricting data storage of specific types of data to computing devices within a specified boundary. A feedback response, specifying a target location, is received from the service instance in response to determining that the service instance cannot access the data because the data is associated with a different data storage boundary. A dynamic dispatch rule specifying the identity and the target location is generated and a subsequent request specifying the identity is processed by executing this dynamic dispatch rule to dispatch the subsequent request directly to a service instance associated with the target location.

  • Publication number: 20240078073
Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying the most impactful moments or segments of music, which are those most likely to elicit a chills effect in a human listener. A digital music signal is processed using two or more objective processing metrics that measure acoustic features known to be able to elicit the chills effect. Individual detection events are identified in the output of each metric based on the output being above or below thresholds relative to the overall output. A combination algorithm aggregates concurrent detection events to generate a continuous concurrence data set of the number of concurrent detection events during the music signal, which can be calculated per beat. A phrase detection algorithm can identify impactful segments of the music based on at least one of peaks, peak-proximity, and a moving average of the continuous concurrence data.

  • Patent number: 11449081
Abstract: A water utility meter arranged to register the volume of water delivered to a consumption site through a distribution network and connect or disconnect the consumption site from the utility distribution network is disclosed. The water utility meter comprises: a flow sensor arranged to measure a flow rate and/or a volume of water delivered to the consumption site; a valve for connecting and disconnecting the consumption site from the distribution network; an actuator for opening and closing the valve; and a controller unit arranged to control the actuator. The controller unit is configured to connect the consumption site to the distribution network by operating the actuator to open the valve. After opening the valve the controller unit analyses flow rate and/or volume measurements from the flow sensor to determine if a reference profile is violated. If the reference profile is violated the controller unit will disconnect the consumption site from the distribution network by closing the valve.
