  • Patent number: 11208965
Abstract: A method for determining a desired intake manifold pressure of an internal combustion engine by means of an iterative method, wherein a cylinder charge is determined for an intake manifold pressure iterated during the iterative method, and the desired intake manifold pressure is determined as a function of the cylinder air charge that has been determined. In addition, a control device for carrying out the method is provided.

  • Patent number: 9004045
Abstract: A deaeration and cooling system for a fuel tank of an internal combustion engine includes an absorption refrigerator configured to cool fuel in the fuel tank. The absorption refrigerator includes a burner, an evaporator and an exhaust-gas heat exchanger. Thermal energy for operating the absorption refrigerator is obtained from the combustion of evaporated fuel. The evaporated fuel is removed from the fuel tank and supplied to the burner of the absorption refrigerator.

  • Patent number: 7707831
Abstract: A method for controlling boost pressure in an internal combustion engine is provided. The method includes a boost pressure control device, which is used to control the boost pressure in an internal combustion engine. The boost pressure control device includes a bypass unit, preferably in the exhaust gas flow of the internal combustion engine. The bypass unit includes an actuating device which enables the bypass unit when a predetermined actuating device setpoint value is reached. An adapted value is established as the correction value (pwgad) as a function of preset and/or detected internal combustion engine parameters (rlsol, nmot). The adapted value is used to adapt the setpoint value for the actuating device, which is specified as a function of the operating point, for a predetermined control deviation between a boost pressure actual value and a boost pressure setpoint value.

  • Patent number: 7561956
Abstract: Method for controlling boost pressure in an internal combustion engine, using a boost pressure control device by means of which from the control deviation between a setpoint boost pressure and an actual boost pressure a manipulated variable is generated which has a D portion supplied by a differential control unit or a damper, the D portion being adapted as a function of a control deviation of a transient effect detected and evaluated for a predetermined evaluation time period, wherein the D portion adaptation includes an operating point-dependent D portion depth adaptation and/or an operating point-dependent D portion time adaptation, whereby the output variable for the differential controller is adapted by the D portion depth adaptation, and the operating time of the D portion corresponding to predetermined boost pressure parameters, in particular characteristic map parameters, is adapted by the D portion time adaptation.

  • Publication number: 20090019848
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling boost pressure in an internal combustion engine, comprising a boost pressure control device by means of which the boost pressure in an internal combustion engine is controlled, the boost pressure control device having a bypass unit, preferably in the exhaust gas flow of the internal combustion engine, and the bypass unit having an actuating device which enables the bypass unit when a predetermined actuating device setpoint value is reached. According to the invention, an adapted value is established as the correction value (pwgad) as a function of preset and/or detected internal combustion engine parameters (rlsol, nmot), by means of which the setpoint value for the actuating device, which is specified as a function of the operating point, for a predetermined control deviation is adapted between a boost pressure actual value and a boost pressure setpoint value.
